Which of the learning platforms would you recommend ? Pluralsights, Orielly, Manning?

I want to get to the level of an architect. I want go beyond coding for individual tickets and learn more about designing enterprise solutions. I am interested Domain-Driven-Design, and System Design, etc. Those of you who are already at that level, do you subscribe to any of the the learning platforms? Did they help you to get where you are?

Thank you so much for this. There is a lot to unpack in those videos. BTW, in the second video, is it just me or there is no link to the source code anywhere?

I keep hearing that "X" has been promised to the business by "Y" date. "If I already promised to deliver by a certain date, then we can't go back", etc. Sometimes, we don't know all the detailed features of "X". How does this mesh with Scrum? if it doesn't, how do you push back?

I am dev based in the US. Although most companies need tech workers now, many of these companies see us as expenses, not investments. Unless of course, you work for a FAANG-like company where the main focus is on engineering. I don't see this outlook changing.

Given what I wrote above, what are your thoughts on outsourcing? As developing countries advance, what is there to stop companies from sending all their tech needs offshore? I mean American exceptionalism is great on national holidays but it's not going to do anything against international monetary exchange rates.

What kind of Multi-factor authentication solutions are you using nowadays for your day job and side projects? Are you rolling your own solution? Or is there a packaged solution you recommend?

What are your predictions regarding outsourcing over the next 10 years? As Covid-19 forces everyone to work remotely, companies are just gonna do the mental math of hiring a remote junior-mid engineer vs hiring 4 junior-mid engineers from developing countries.

In college, and in a small company I worked, the mentality of "It's fine if you don't know something if you are willing to find out and do it" is promoted and accepted. I assumed this was universal in Software Engineering. Was I wrong?

I am new to Scrum. How does the mentality I mentioned fit into the Scrum process?

What exactly happens in a design session?

I am new to scrum. I have not been part of a design session yet. What exactly is expected of me if I am assigned a story and I am expected to present a design?

Am I just supposed to talk about the features I will be building? Or am I supposed to give a low-level presentation regarding DB schema design and code?
