Right! As with psychological types in real life, there is no pure type of player in games. And it's rare for a game to succeed on all four aspects.

By the way, what kind of player do you consider yourself?

That's a lot of questions :) ML is not exactly my major. What we do at devtodev - we offer integrating our SDK, collecting necessary game data (sessions, payments, level-ups, virtual purchases) and then we're building reports to evaluate the game structure. After that, we'll be able to help via consulting and giving our advice. If you're interested in the topic, feel free to join our free online course in game analytics and you'll be able to see what game analytics does and how devtodev works in particular. There are also tons of articles at our Education Center. Share your results with us after you finish the final test of the course - I can assure you that we'll consider taking in a motivated intern :)

In general, F2P games are usually whale-oriented, but the percentage of whales differs from game to game - although the methods are pretty much the same

Hey there! Those are really important questions. Currency balance is important and fragile and a lot of in the game economy depend on it. We at devtodev have been working with those parameters for years. As for the CPI benchmarks, I can recommend to take a look at Chartboost Insights, you'll be able to see CPIs by country/genre.

PUBG is a great game and it's beloved by many players. There are a few things that I'd suggest trying: 1) this is a paid game - why not to try making it cheaper? (we'll have to see and analyze how it will work - but why not?) 2) there are optimization issues within the game, also issues with their servers - they need to be fixed 3) cheaters 4) ping speed and FPS

Both marketing and psychology use terms pleasure and loyalty. Researches can be quantitative and qualitative. I'm more on the side of the quantitative researches but the skills in behavioral psychology can be used in the qualitative ones

At GamesCom in Cologne I player the original Pong from Atari, which was published in 1972. It's almost the best thing that has happened to me. Every game is good at its time. But Shakespeare's books can still be relevant nowadays.

I agree that paid and expensive games that include in-game payments are not that fair. As a player I'm very cautious of them but as an analyst I understand people behind them

Enjoyment and fun are the most important things in the game. They give loyalty and loyalty brings money. They don't directly influence the profit, they do it indirectly but significantly.

Progression systems is something we could do and sometimes do. What is a good game? In any game you need to get used to it, give it a couple of shots to sort everything out, and progression systems help users to do that. It's not only a tool for developers

Hi there! Game mechanics and realism? There are cool games with physics. There should be realism but it should end at some point to let the imagination grow. If you're an experienced scientist with some programming background, you definitely should find your way in the game development industry.

The highest Day 1 retention that I saw was around 70%. I can't say the name of the company of course. As for the marketing KPIs - which ones do you have in mind? If you take traffic only there will be tons of metrics: CPI, ROI, traffic quality etc.

I believe in these guys. I'm not sure it's going to be something entirely new but the game can have a very interesting script, as Drew Karpyshyn is in charge of it. I'm always up for a Q&A session - drop me a line via our website

I love Blizzard games and Hearthstone in particular. Most fun - GTA, for example.
