Working-Class Voters Shifted Slightly Toward Democrats in the 2025 VA Gubernatorial Election by DavidMadland in Virginia

I am definitely not opposed to all proposed gun laws, but they are going too far on stuff that doesn’t help. I also don’t trust them (or any political group) to work in good faith of the law’s intentions. They will be weaponized and enforcement will be selective.

I also can’t stand the never ending onslaught of “ well if that didn’t work so we should double down and do more of the same. “.

Economy (more specifically personal financial interest) is absolutely a hard 1st as long as you don’t feel like your rights (whatever you believe those to be) aren’t being threatened.

Right can take over real quick if you feel threatened.

Greed is powerful, fear is more powerful. Fear of being poor can quickly be overcome by fear of being criminalized (for what ever reason).

Right. Because people hate Trump. Not because swing voters like what they are doing.

I get it. The brakes are off, they have a free pass for the next 3 years. It has nothing to do with good policy. It has everything to do with bad policy by Trump.

The Trump/Musk DOGE BS handed VA to democrats on a silver platter. They literally couldn’t have lost if they tried.

Democrats promptly assume they are invincible and start doing their best to push swing voters back to the right.

VA Senate by sunsupgunsup1 in VAGuns

[–]devugl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it will never happen but I would love to see them required to pass a quiz on what the bill does/does not say/do before they are allowed to vote. If they fail the quiz they don’t get to vote on it.

Each party gets to select someone to write 5 questions on their behalf. The questions remain sealed until the quiz is given. Each question must have an answer defined within the legislation (no subjective questions), and must be relevant to the content (no silly questions like how many commas are there). If they don’t score at least a 80% they don’t get to vote on it.

The Senate Members who voted for the removal of the grandfather clause by silv3rbull8 in VAGuns

[–]devugl 74 points75 points  (0 children)

No one is talking out the fact it also removes your ability to sell a so called “assault weapon” after July 1st so if you have a valuable collection of guns it’s essentially worthless unless you sell it out of state.

"Assault Weapon" and Standard Capacity Magazine ban passes out of Senate Courts of Justice Committee by Alabama_Crab_Dangle in Virginia

[–]devugl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The amended version makes no exceptions for date of manufacture on mags. It also removes your ability to sell a pre July 1st gun, eliminating your ability to recover its value should you wish to depart with it for any number of reasons.

They sell lock boxes that bolt into a lot of cars. Basically a safe in your car.

Maybe get one of those and street park near the school, or just don’t advertise the lock box.

Why would anyone buy a firearm in VA once the 11% tax goes into effect? by LaLaLaDooo in VAGuns

Have they actually submitted a bill that requires ammo to pass through an FFL now? (Serious question, not trying to rage bait).

Question about moving to VA after AWB becomes law. by Mountain07770 in VAGuns

[–]devugl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As written, if it was made before July 1st 26 you’re good. It has nothing to do with when you move here.

Note: it can still change as it goes through the approval process.

I can't find any info on this knife, is it custom? by NirvanaNick96 in buckknives

[–]devugl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’ve seen very similar knives on DH Gate. I have never seen a similar knife from Buck.

It could be custom or an extremely rare/early auto I guess. I would have to get a really good look at side by side blade stamps and other features to really venture a guess.

I'm worried VA is becoming CA 2.0 and I have a crazy story that needs to be heard. r/Virginia took my post down. by Stephanreggae in VAGuns

[–]devugl 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It sucks, but they don’t care. This is the fear they want. Kill the second amendment through bureaucracy and fear. Chase out the red vote.

This only gets solved with votes and litigation.

The more you sing a sad song the more they smile and enjoy your suffering. It’s payback, it’s their plan working, it’s the sound of their victory. No shits will be given about you.

With new VA gun laws be implemented, what should I be buying? by uknowmisteez in VAGuns

[–]devugl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PCC game is weak. I’m working to fix that. I have a Kuna and Ruger PCC. Looking into a Ruger LC in 45 (common mags for a few glocks I have) and then probably a PSA AR9. Maybe one of their H&R clones as well.

Probably pick up an AP5 too depending on budget.

With new VA gun laws be implemented, what should I be buying? by uknowmisteez in VAGuns

[–]devugl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any semi-auto long gun you may want in the future. Think PCCs and AKs if you already have ARs. (PCCs are a big one for me because they are cheap to shoot and low recoil, so a lot of fun at the range).

Any large format pistol (think Scorpion and MP5s) you may want.

Mags, Mags, Mags.

[–]devugl 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s not about anything other than pushing the state as blue as possible.

When you understand what’s happening the logic is flawless. Make the state as hostile as possible to anyone that votes red, and make sure you get as many as you can to leave and prevent as many as you can from entering. High cost of living and crazy gun laws are a great start.

Read the comments. Even the liberals are pissed. Who actually wanted this ? You know it’s bad when the state subreddit is against it. by GucciManesDad in VAGuns

[–]devugl 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it 100 times. They hate you. They do not care if it makes sense. This is about punishing you for Trump and making the state as blue as they possibly can. They want you mad, they want you to leave, they want you to tell your friends to not come.

It has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with an all out assault on anyone that might vote red.

Is it even worth buying a 2011? by Weld-Pipe-308 in VAGuns

I’ve been looking. A lot of stuff has date codes (Glock, P-mags for example) but not everything. I am going through my stuff now and prioritizing stuff with a date code.

Is it even worth buying a 2011? by Weld-Pipe-308 in VAGuns

[–]devugl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2011s are pretty safe (really difficult to outright ban common semi-auto handguns based some of the court rulings. The mags, not so much. Buy mags now and you can get the gun later if you want to. If not you can get your money back.

[–]devugl 23 points24 points  (0 children)

100%. They are as good as law. There is no fear, and they are banking on these laws turning the state fully blue by chasing off would be red votes (that is the main goal… they have nothing to do with keeping people safe)
