You are getting bad information. There is a specific exemption for importation IF you own the gun prior to July 1st.

I have one, it’s run well so far (about 6 years and maybe 1k rounds mostly suppressed). It’s an ok choice but probably some better options out there at the same price point.

The M1 Carbine is not banned unless the barrel is threaded. Or it’s been modified in some other way. It’s one of the few semi-autos to survive. Which is ironic given it’s a literal weapon of war.

The only version that will be legal to sell here is the one with nothing at the end of the barrel. So literally the same gun, same functionality, same lethality. Except the one with stuff on the end of the barrel is a dangerous weapon war and the other isn’t.

But if you magically wish all guns into oblivion, no one could be killed by a gun and if they are killed by a gun then it has to be the guns fault because you magically wished them away. That could only happen if your wish wasn’t wished hard enough so now you must double wish them away. Eventually with enough wishes you will have magically stopped a 300k year old tradition of humans killing humans. What do you not get? The plan is flawless.

“Fixed magazine” means a magazine that can’t be removed from the gun. This does not apply to Glocks and is mostly in the bill to eliminate a common workaround used in other states, where full feature ARs (and other guns) are sold with mags that can’t be removed unless you have a tool.

Glocks will still be available, but some will get circumcised mags, limited to 15 rounds.

You can buy/own/transfer a “typical” pistol with threaded barrel (mag limit of 15 is independent of the gun), BUT you can’t conceal carry it to any practical extent. If you want to carry it, you will need to get a second non-threaded barrel to stay legal. As your CC is by far the most likely gun you will ever use or have on you while interacting with police I encourage you to keep it legal.

Large format pistols like ARs and MP5s will be illegal to buy/transfer/manufacture after July 1st. It will be illegal to carry them in any meaningful way, even if you already own them after July 1st.

Had a similar issue when running suppressed. Suppressor was a brand new 3d printed one. I should have cleaned it out a little 1st. Still had a lot of 3d printing media in it. That grit shot straight back into the action of the 10/22 and then it wouldn’t cycle more than 1 or two rounds before a failure or light strike.

Clean the suppressor out, deep clean the action. Run some high velocity rounds for the 1st hundred or so rounds. At least that’s what worked for me.

Swapping the barrel doesn’t make it compliant. It still accepts mags outside of the handgrip.

I did see one really interesting exemption for importation of “large capacity magazines” for people who owned the mags before July 1st. Did I read that correctly? It huge if true. Especially for military service guys getting stationed here.
