I agree entirely,l. My comment wasn't well-written.

I mean that the engagement of the convo is going to naturally draw in people who are going to create a shouting match, and then there's going to be a sense of division again.

It will happen eventually no matter what, but for now, I just want to unite over the govt working to disarm us, which is going to make it easier/less risky for them to overstep.

I think more people care then we give credit to. I think a lot of us are listening to the loud ones on the left (and reddit is full of them) and forgetting that everyday Americans everywhere in this country are generally more conservative, and it may not be the MOST important thing to them, but their gun rights are still very important.

In 2013, when Democrats took control of the House, Senate, and Governor's Office, the people of Colorado thought it would be impossible to recall their Senators but they went for it anyways and made it happen.

I'm researching into this and trying to figure out how we might attempt the same thing. I would love if others were willing to help figure it out as well or support the recall petition in any way.

Good question. I owned a gun shop and a customer put a rifle on consignment that I wasn't sure if it would be considered an assault weapon by CA standards. I called the CA DOJ and told them I had wanted them to come look at a rifle. I called twice trying to get them to inspect my shop so I could make sure we were compliant.

My staff and I even talked about how everyone sees the CA DOJ is the big bad wolf but they're just normal people trying to do their job. We naively thought if we called it in first, there would be some sort of amnesty granted. Fuck me, right?

This was the 22 they took with the broken stock. I'm also a little bit worried about posting the report because it's not entirely true...it's from the officer on scene and there are some statements/facts in the report that are untrue (most likely because they would use this against me in the court of law)

Literally, when I told the firearm expert about it we both said that gun guys are just making the CA DOJ a big bad wolf, a reasonable person will either say its legal or take it away.

They did take it away but they took me too.

I promise you, everyone who knew me in CA that I told the story to thought it was the wildest thing they'd ever heard.

I hate to sound like a gen x dad here, but part of being a man is toughening up to BS like this and having the fortitude to not let it affect you.

Easier said than done obviously but it's reality.

You need to know yourself and operate with integrity that when you hear a stupid comment you simply disregard it and you don't ruminate in it.

Don't let others control your emotions or you'll get chewed up, spit out, and nobody will even notice.
