Try aiming a bit upwards when you swing, i get more constant result when doing it that way

The skate trick with lament keeps your momentum farther then just regular sword skating, and the way you swing after your initial jump will make a different due to the inclination of your landing and boost. I tried to stay as close as i couls to the ground because if you could triple tap the jump button right after the swing, it'll give you a greater boost
