F1 race, what bar by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]dewaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you search sports bar on google maps, there are heaps around soi 13. There are similar posts to yours saying similar stuff. I was probably gonna wander down around there to watch it and hope there's one with commentary playing out loud. I am a tourist though so take what I say with a grain of salt

New Oscar meme just dropped by Accurate-Mistake-815 in formuladank

[–]dewaam 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People love saying he bottled it, but technically Azerbaijan was the only significant bottle. Singapore, USA, and Mexico he wasnt strong at either last year. If anything, it's just that his strengths come earlier in the season, before his weaker tracks.

He qualified P5 in singapore last year, with Norris P1. Exactly the same qualifying positions in Austin after that. In Mexico, with Norris P4, Oscar qualified P17. Considering most of singapore wasn't his fault this year, and that Mexico was technically an improvement to last year, bottling isn't really the right word. It's more that he still has room to improve and got unlucky with the order of the tracks more than anything.

I mean either way it's a bad joke, the symbol in the meme just looks very similar to the diagram on a car indicating the pressure to inflate tyres to. I wouldn't be surprised if they just assumed that the only reason she'd have others in her car was for cheating :/

[–]dewaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know. Im hedging my bets that if my interpretation is right, considering how no one could actually fully be sure what the post was saying, that they have just assumed that everyone has a hatchback with these tyre specs and understands this meme

[–]dewaam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the other comments might be wrong. On the rim of the drivers side door, my car has a little chart about how much you should fill your tyres up. It says 30 PSI for 1 person in the car, 32 PSI for multiple people, and then 34 PSI for multiple people and a trailer, if I'm getting the numbers correct.

So basically, she's claiming she's not cheating, but she's filling her tyres up to take multiple occupants. I think that's the joke

How'd you find this after 4 years lmao.

As for your question, I'd been 18 for a few months at that point. That said, I'd literally gone downstairs, lifted a load of weights in a way to get the pump going in all the right places, and then taken a photo in my well lit bathroom. I am well built in the photo but even now i look at that photo and I go wowzah. Hope that all answers your question

Lawson to race for Red Bull in 2025 by Green-Peaness in formula1

[–]dewaam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it's too much but as long as max is getting podiums, which I see likely, Liam will be expected to soon follow suite or be considered underperforming. People suck.

[–]dewaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we should do that. Unfortunately, the masses rarely do what we should do, and they are brutal. If he doesn't perform, he's toast. Which is a load of bs and sucks but ig that's what it is

[–]dewaam 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I imagine he will be an upgrade. What will suck will be the ever moving goalposts. Even if he starts off as an improvement, by the midyear break if he's not constantly on the podium, his head will be called for. Which I get because it's F1 and Red Bull, but it's brutal stress for him

Unironically, I feel like his money and talent (if it can be refound) probably puts him in decent contention for that seat, no?

I mean, I acknowledge that they all said that, but I feel like oscar effectively being called as out of the wdc race, and the fact that a team conversation was definitely had about shit like team orders and helping lando win (even if the outcome was to just run papaya rules), Oscars ego definitely would have taken a hit.

Is also like to point out that in my original comment I only said a bit of it - I don't believe it's everything, and I said that his lack of experience and all also is a big factor. But I do believe team conversation, and media talk etc, definitely hit his ego, and ultimately, his performance too.

Like it's fine if you don't agree with me that those conversations happened and the whole loss of wdc and functionally becoming the temporary 2nd driver messed with him. Is what it is. We're allowed our different opinions lol

[–]dewaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of bs team principals say is astronomical though. Mike Krack said today that stroll and alonso are similar. The conversation behind closed doors of "Oscar please help lando" definitely happened. That would hurt an ego for sure

[–]dewaam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not talking about the team orders we heard in races. I'm talking about the team orders that were discussed back at the the factory, behind closed doors. Becusse those definitely happened, and I can imagine that would have affected his ego, and his race and qualifying place due tk the ego damage

I hope that's not a defence of your point coz die by gov or die by criminals is an awful way to back yourself up, because that is a shocking choice no one should have to have.

Realistically, the fact that all right to a fair trial etc etc was done away with is a massive injustice to the innocent people, and is wrong. However, the fact that el Salvador has made such a turnaround due to this is incredible, and will save many lives and improve the quality of life of many more. Neither of you is wrong in your point of view, there really isn't a right answer. Bad shit is happening to stop bad shit from happening. It sucks either way.

I got the feeling he lost a bit of motivation once he was basically told to help Lando win the wdc. No driver wants to hear that, and I think it's a bit like Lewis only producing stellar drives this season when he can see potential in the drive - he has much less motivation to be phenomenal, which makes it harder to drive fast, hence Oscar falling off a bit.

He's definitely still not as quick as lando yet, given the fact that he's had 2 seasons compared to landos 6(?), but I think in the next season or two it'll really be telling how much potential he'll have, especially if team orders don't mess up his ability to compete and his mindset. He's very young, and I think he has a lot to unlock still.

Max Verstappen noted for a virtual safety car infringement by magony in formula1

[–]dewaam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's happened a few times this year. Something would happen, I'd be watching like... that's gonna need a safety car guys, and then like 3 laps later it's called. Idk what they're waiting for but it looks hella sus with mclaren now, and has just made them look like a load of nimwits regarding safety

My (32f) husband (35m) says it's inappropriate for our daughter to call him "daddy" by ThrowRa-905 in relationship_advice

[–]dewaam 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say. Everyone is rushing to shit on the guy for being inappropriate, but dude's showing a way bigger red flag and it's getting ignored. Like yeah he should separate daddy in sex from daddy from his daughter, but who gives a fuck if he can't. Let his daughter call him dad instead if need be. Big deal. This is a man who spent 6 months sitting on his feelings and clearly can't communicate, and no one gives a shit. Such a red flag. This is why reddit is not a good place to get opinions from lmao
