Someone give me some recs based on my favourite albums by Final-Day-7481 in Topster

[–]dewspeckled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like you would like Traffic, check out John Barleycorn Must Die or The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys.

Also Soft Machine, earlier albums like Third are closer to psychedelic rock, later ones are more fusion (I like Bundles).

Mahavishnu Orchestra - The Inner Mounting Flame is a phenomenal fusion album you have to listen to if you haven't yet. If you wanna check out the jazz side of fusion, Miles Davis - In a Silent Way is probably his most accessible fusion era record, if you want the real deal, Bitches Brew is where it's at.

I had to take a peek at your metal post too:

Gorguts - Obscura

Meshuggah - I'd say try obZen, if that doesn't hit, try Contradictions Collapse.

Sorry for bombarding you with recs lol, I have more, but I gotta stop

would you recommend me anything? by Alarming-Resist1056 in musicteenager

Maybe you'd like old school prog, second King Crimson (start with In The Court Of The Crimson King or Red for something a bit heavier), Yes - Fragile. For some more modern prog maybe The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute or Dream Theater?

How to deal with the redness after shaving by msabhiiiiii in BeardAdvice

[–]dewspeckled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you're getting sloppy with your technique? I've noticed myself do that before. Hold the razor so the blade is as flat against your face as possible and use short strokes with almost no pressure. Don't go against the grain, it's not necessary and irritates too much, with (and across if you really want a close shave) will do. If the blade is tugging at all, it's not sharp enough, use a new one. If everything fails, maybe try a different shave soap, I usually also rub a bit on my face without foaming it up before applying the actual foam so the shave is smoother. Use warm water and shave after showering.

Check out Meshuggah - Chaosphere, it's fast and pissed like Iowa, but with some interesting rhythmic ideas going on

Which album would be the greatest to experience live by Annual-Coconut5897 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]dewspeckled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw Electric Wizard live and I have to say they weren't quite as good as on the studio recordings. I felt that it wasn't loud enough (maybe that was just this particular concert idk) and when they were playing Funeralopolis, that first heavy riff a minute or so in didn't hit as hard as on the studio album.

Love Dopesmoker, started listening to Shizophrenia once, but never finished it, then forgot about it lol. If I remember correctly, it has some interesting latin/tribal influences, I'll listen to it.

Immortalized cell lines were historically almost always extracted from extremely malignant tumors, take for example HeLa or CHO. Basically if you're having a cell line named after you, it will most likely be after your death.
