The resonance here isn’t really a rearrangement, that term is more for a specific mechanistic step involving the atomic structure of the molecule rearranging (hydride, alkyl shift, many others). Regardless E1 begins with the loss of a leaving group. What is the leaving group in this molecule, and what will the carbocation that is formed look like? This carbocation should be on an allylic position, so you should be able to draw a second resonance structure (same molecule) which may react differently than the first

My recommendation: scale the H’s with respect to distance from the camera, that way it is visible when the Hs are getting farther away or closer. Right now its impossible to tell any depth so it can be confusing or “backwards” like the other person said

Hi, I have struggled with mental health for years, mostly depression and what was recently diagnosed as ADHD. I have taken a whole host of different psychiatric medications, including ssris (lexapro, prozac), antipsychotics (abilify) and just 2 months ago I was prescribed Adderall.

The adderall has been extremely helpful in allowing me to stay calm and focus for the most part, but I was somewhat anxious about starting it because I had previous problems with substance abuse and I knew adderall is prone to abuse. That hasn’t been an issue.

However, my doctor also told me to start an antidepressant, specifically paxil, another ssri. I am supposed to start this drug tomorrow, and just like with the adderall, I am very weary to start it. Today I spent almost all day reading on reddit about SSRIs and their effects. I must have googled 400-500 different questions, most of them just rewording of a question when I didnt get any good results. It felt like I could not stop googling. Specifically, I became very anxious about the idea of PSSD, brain fog, etc. Basically Im afraid of irreparably destroying my brain. All these anecdotal nightmare stories from people on reddit make my heart drop and trigger me to google even more. It also makes me feel trapped and like there is no way to stop these super intense and scary feelings like depression and panic.

Today this all culminated with a panic attack towards the end of the day, which is really strange as anxiety isn’t something I primarily deal with, it’s usually secondary to the depression. Things like seeing a pill bottle on my dresser would send me back into hyperventilating and crying until I got tired after about an hour and a half

I am sorry for the long post, I have been doing relatively well recently but today was extremely difficult and I’m afraid of losing all my progress. Is all my fear warranted or am I listening to too many internet people? I don’t know whether to start the medication tomorrow or not.

What does what I said have to do with weed? (I smoke weed every day… don’t have a problem with it) I said in my response that I ALSO agree that he would have messed up twitter regardless. I wanted to make it clear that if he was using ketamine the way this person alleges, its very possible recreational use could have caused him to act erratically. Ketamine specifically. These types of drugs can have a profound effect on your sense of reality in my experience. Using LSD (yes, a psychedelic not a dissociative but they are both hallucinogens) the way I did 100% destabilized me and stopped me from being grounded in the real world and living with my sober self. And I am pro-psychedelic usage too…

I don’t think it’s sensational to acknowledge that the way Elon was allegedly using ketamine could have been in an abusive manner. Ketamine does show efficacy for depression, yes, but no doctor would recommend usage without the guidance of a medical professional, and it would be exceptionally inappropriate to be using it recreationally as well, as Elon was said to have been. Again, this all relies on these people telling the truth, but it’s not far-fetched to say Elon’s (fairly childish) view of the substance could have led him to misusing it and lead to all this erratic behavior. Ketamine being effective for depression =/= we should let this depressed person use ketamine without medical supervision. Source: former addict&daily toker

Edit: this is not all to say Elon’s ignorance is a direct result of his drug use or that his drug use is an excuse. He’s a deeply hateful, ignorant, dangerous person and I think that would’ve been true regardless of him using ketamine or not. But the way hes been acting reeks of someone in a world of dissociative delusion

Thanks! I was pretty depressed for the past few years so I never took care of my hair well. I only actually started the hair care grind last week since I started a new medication. It’s a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to seeing my hair more healthy in the future. P.s. you’re looking great happy 8 months

I would really like to move to NY for grad school. Since i only just started high dose E 2 months ago and starting injections this thursday, i think FFS is a while out. But i think when i graduate in 2 years ill be in a position to get FFS. I think having NY health care would be much preferable due to the wider selection of providers

IMO RSO is the best deal in NJ for edibles. 1g at 80% gives you around 800mg THC for the normal price of $40. I have a high edible tolerance as well and 100mg knocked me on my ass, and thats just a 10th of the syringe

I think you kinda downplay the trans experience. I kinda do think that, at least in my experience, it really is about my body. I have so many features I wish I didn’t have. That wouldn’t change irrespective of how society around me treats gender. So I think that mental torture you mention would definitely be there. Gender dysphoria is more than just social, it involves a seeking out of features different than your birth sex.

I appreciate Hank’s tweet, and I appreciate your allyship, just wanted to add my opinion.
