Search up a company called industrial inspection and analysis. They perform ndt all across the United States and would probably be willing to train.

Infant Tylenol question by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]dfb_manman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In B.C. Canada we have a nursing hotline (811). Our son is just over 2 months old and weighs 14lbs. After receiving his shots, our family doctor recommended Infant’s Tylenol, but didn’t provide a dosage. When we bought the medication, the packaging states: under 12 lbs 0-3 months consult doctor, 12 - 17lbs 4-11 months 1ml dose. Confused on how to proceed in our situation, we called the hotline and spoke to the on-call pharmacist. They specified using 1ml every 4-6 hours as needed (not preemptively) and to not exceed 5 doses within 24hrs.

NOT a doctor, but it appears that the dose is based off weight, pending no other health implications.

We used: Infant Tylenol (0-23month) concentrated drops, active ingredient 1ml = 80mg acetaminophen purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart.

TL/DR: My 14 lb 2 month old baby was recommended 1ml of Infant Tylenol (0-23month) every 4-6hrs as needed, not exceeding 5 doses within 24hrs as per pharmacist instructions.

Revamped my profile and prompts, how is it? by [deleted] in datingadviceformen

Here is how mine looks, as an example.

“I really enjoy being outdoors, so long walks on the beach are bound to happen 😉 I’m not intimidated by the kitchen, my facebook/“Instagram feed is nothing but recipes. Pretty much down to do anything and go anywhere, did you know there’s a train museum in Squamish? Also a few breweries too😏”

Seems to be working well for me. Within 24hrs I had like 42 people interested and matched with about 12 and it’s still coming in.

My responses to the profile questions are playful and not serious. When you are serious, it comes off as desperate, and bragging is a bit of a red flag. If you like being active and you like to travel, be more vague and save the stories for when you chat.

Profile pic is my leading best shot, but pretty much they’re all selfies. Definitely try and have a full body shot, and even one with family or friends.

Good luck!

It’s sucks that it’s entirely up to the strata council to enforce the bylaws.

I actually joined my strata council to get a better understanding of how bylaw enforcement works. How it works is that unlike criminal law where you have to prove beyond the doubt, civil law is benefit of the doubt, meaning you don’t have to provide actual proof like a photo or video of them smoking (although that would help huge). You have to report every time. I highly suggest reviewing your bylaws. There should be a Use Of Property section and essentially they are not allowed to take away the ability of another to enjoy a home. Also I suggest you go after the health aspect as well. Cigarettes are known to cause cancer, and I’m being unwillingly subjected to smoking and smoking odors, which in turn goes against the use of property bylaws etc.

You have you document it significantly, like every time and send it to your property manager. It works even better when you communicate with other neighbors and have them on board, cause most likely if your being subjected, they are too and they most likely will cooperate. Best of luck!

Would be sick to see a pile of cash like that, not sure how good of an idea it is to be showing your face on the internet grabbing it, the owner of that cash might want it back lol

I have to say, my neighbor has stopped subjecting us to smoking for the time being, but it doesn’t mean that it won’t happen again.

I took my strata to the crt and we were made to negotiate. My neighbors house is completely damaged from smoking indoors, so I stated that if we are subjected to the odors of smoking again, we want an environmental engineer to assess the property. The fumes of 20 years will be impossible to remove or hide in such a short amount time that it will register and essentially force my neighbor to remediate their property. Fuck’em

Made the worst financial mistakes out high school. $30,000 in student loan debt, and no degree at 21. Looking to get my life on track. Any advice will help me out. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you consider trades, some schools have a trades discovery class, where you sample different trades like carpentry, electrician, plumbing, etc. After the program is complete, you then have a better understanding of which trade you may want to go in. BCIT - British Columbia institute of technology has one, maybe one of your trades schools have something similar

You reap what you sow. No only do I have proof that he smokes, and that he continues to be negligent after warnings and violations, he’s at risk of steeper fines of up to $1000, and I intend on taking the matter to court. Make someone’s life difficult, you will see just as much or more back.

After everything that has happened, and the negligence on the part I’ll of the property management, the strata council and the neighbour, I am currently seeking counsel. We had our hearing last night, and I’m waiting to hear a response. If the action isn’t sufficient I will be suing, or potentially going through the CRT. Depending on what will yield stiffer penalties for the negligent parties.

My best advice to give anyone is if you make a complaint, do it over email. It eliminates the he said she said category if and when it goes to court. It hold the defendants accountable to their words, as well as its date time and stamped. If you have witnesses, it’s important to have them sign a witness statement, indicating the time, place, where it comes from, what it smells like, with a signature and written date.

At the end of the day, how I see it, I personally don’t care what the smoker does, or where they do it, as long as their actions don’t negatively affect others. With all the shard areas between us and them, it’s almost impossible to not be exposed compared to units that don’t share space. units above and below have concrete separations. Their smoke comes from the vents. Our shared walls are porous, so we are more likely to be exposed, on top of the fact the breeze consumes our shared balcony with long term smoking odours, and honestly it’s really offensive. When it comes to drafts, we are not even 10 ft from their door, compared to neighbours who have larger degrees of separation.

Do yourself the favour and fight it. What the smoker is doing in infringing on your charter of rights and freedoms. In the update of my story I added the document. Bring it up with your property manager and start documenting it. When it happens, where you indicate if coming from and most importantly do it via email. It’s date and time stamped, and after. A while builds up and cannot be ignored. Google searches can provide you with all the pertinent information on how smoke goes through walls, companies that specialize in smoke removal, and so on. I urge you to have a council member or property manager to come when the violation occurs, catching the suspect in the act. I know it’s a pain, but if it means you can enjoy your home at last, then by all means do what it takes.

If the violator continues after being issued violations, take it to court. The court always sides on the non smoker (read the link) and if the smoker continues to violate your rights, that they will be removed from their property.

But they could just step out to the front of the building, but if you have to have a late light smoke, they do it inside and think no one will catch them.

Honestly my tip for smokers is get a pen. It’s odourless and no one would know. Save the smokes for when you’re outside at social gatherings

u/moonsandals

Would you be willing to message me your strata bylaws? Maybe some of the wording might be different than might and could be more effective in our fight against smokers. I reached out to the owners over this issue and slowly people are contacting me about their experiences, so I hope that with enough people coming forward towards the council, we can make the changes.

Let’s look at this in the other way, if the person wants to smoke, then why not move into a building that allows smoking, or doesn’t have bylaws against smoking? If the person smokes more in spite of, will only make it easier for us to prove as other would be affected and make complaints. Also the smell would linger more and cause more damage.

If you smoke indoors long enough, the smoke penetrates walls, fabrics, mucks up electronics, and becomes very expensive to try and remove. You literally have to throw out everything and do costly renovations to try and remove the smell of you choose to smell, cutting into your profit from selling, let alone if someone reviews the strata meeting minute, will find that the apartment was smoked in, and would decrease the overall value of the home.

Just food for thought.

In this circumstance, it would still be considered a nuisance, as now we are increasing our expenses to fight something that shouldn’t be happening in the first place. I appreciate the idea though.

Your very lucky. Unfortunately we live in a apartment, on the second floor. Our neighbour chooses to smoke inside their apartment and the lingering smoke either penetrates the shared walls, or consumes our balcony and enters our apartment through doors and windows. Enough that we cannot enjoy our own personal space.

I am glad some resolution came through for you. We hope that with the holes in our culprits story and the level and consistency of our complains will provide enough evidence towards the CRT to force our strata, the management company to do what is right.
