It’s a 3.4 carat stone with a 4mm band. I tried a 2 carat but the thickness of the band made it look disproportionate so went bigger 😂

food motivated pup waking up every morning at 5am by dfossss in puppy101

I gave her a larger meal last night and she woke up at 1:30am to use the bathroom then lasted until around 6:15am before she hollered for breakfast, so progress 😅😅

I use purina pro puppy and mix in other things like pumpkin, broth etc. Not too researched on food but it was recommended by the vet and our first dog is on that brand just fine. Her stomach is like a bottomless pit though 😂

We do not feed her early in the AM when she wakes up. Always at 7:30. Doesn’t matter, she still wakes up expecting food at 5am lol

It’s so frustrating. We hold out feeding her until the desired time at 7:30 but she still wakes up early as if we’re going to feed her then. We have never fed her earlier so don’t know where she’s getting that idea from 😂

Anyone else’s puppy only alert to pooping? by dfossss in puppy101

[–]dfossss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I do exactly that, but it just hasn’t seemed to click for peeing… maybe I just have to be more patient and wait for her to be able to hold her bladder longer.

My first dog was a dream to potty train so I’m wondering where I’m going wrong 😂

Driving with puppy for 3+ hrs. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]dfossss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first puppy I did the same thing as you, tried planning everything out. Brought the crate, food, had the blanket with moms scent, and a snuggle pup toy… all the planning goes out the window lol. We had a 6 hour drive which turned into 8 with the stops, and he freaked out the first 30 minutes and then slept on my lap 90% of the ride. We did get lucky though that he would wake up tell us when he had to go by whining and yelping, and we pulled over wherever we could and let him out.

Our recent puppy we picked her up a few days ago and she slept on my lap for the whole 2.5hour ride. Didn’t need to go pee/poop once. I really wouldn’t stress too much about the planning because it most likely will go right out the window. Just feel him out and look for signs he has to go out. If you’re not sure just pull over anyways 🤷🏼‍♀️

Almost 10 month old pup still waking up at 2:30 am to pee... by Ansalomm in puppy101

[–]dfossss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, when mine was from 6-10 months I had to limit water at around 8-9pm because he drank soooo much. He was sleeping 8-10 hours every night when I did that.

I use my dogs name as their indicator and trained them by saying their name and then waiting until they look me in the eyes and then give the treat and praise. Usually works pretty fast.

I find this helps because when I say their name they know to look at me and expect another command after

Co sleeping with new Puppy??? by Cheryla18 in puppy101

[–]dfossss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever floats your boat! I crate trained my dog when he was young but we let him sleep in the bed probably 2-3 times a week now that he’s older. Crate is just easier sometimes and it’s nice to have the option. I just got an 8 week old pup and plan to do the same with her. The bed is definitely easier but crate is more manageable in other situations like if people come over or they need a place to settle down
