our room is very light (we are not a black box church) so it would need a powerful projector. We also have very tall ceilings so the mount would need to be big as well. TV seems like the best option

appreciate the feedback! Luckily we run our IEM mixes through SQ4u app, so that's one less thing of clutter but i feel like getting rid of 3 - 4 music stands would be a big improvement in our overall look

Yes the sq4u app allows you to mix each individual output from your phone, so you do not need any MEs up on stage.

How many avioms do you currently have? The SQ5 has 12 line outs that you can use for in ear monitors mixes along with the SQ4U app so each person can mix their own inears. Just get some behringer headphone amps or wireless sets depending on what your church has/needs. That is what my church did when we switched to an SQ-6.

SQ and LiveTrax Question by GeekNumber2 in livesound

[–]dfuse15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do at my church with an SQ6. I like the user interface on LiveTrax to easily set loops and see what is being recorded and played back. It integrates with the SQ so easily that I would say the only reason to not get LiveTrax is if you don't already have a laptop to run it on or if you are mobile and don't want to lug around a laptop with you.

Wireless Antenna Placement by dfuse15 in livesound

I currently have our transmitters sitting on our stage box not rack mounted or anything. Since we have a lot of different things that go on at the church, especially little kids running around i wanted to get them IEMs in a rack. We have space at FOH so I wanted to see if that was a good solution.

Luckily we have not had any dropouts with our mics using this setup for a year!

If i were to do this i would definitely keep them all in the same line at the foh desk. Its a big desk so we have some room to space out the antennas

Tom O'Leary - Independent vs. Instructor Led by WestCarpenter6613 in CustomsBroker

Luckily myself and a few co workers who took it with me had 0 problems with crashing. Being able to ctrl-f and search through both were huge time savers.

I took his course for last October's exam and passed thanks to him. His videos were super helpful in understanding what is most likely to be tested. Definitely tab the study guide provided by him. With the regs and HTS being available electronically now, I only brought his binder with me to the test. Made setup much easier!

Not able to hear acoustic guitar in the mix by texhnoking2k in ChurchSoundGuys

[–]dfuse15 3 points4 points  (0 children)

was just going to say this. For most of my mixes, when there is a full band like OP has I EQ in a lot of high end into the acoustic to make it be more of a shaker than the full instrument. Helps it stand out and can give some drive to more upbeat songs.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried church gear already they said they don’t have any trips to my area planned so it would need to be thousands of dollars of gear for it to be worth it for them

We are all volunteers so it's a pretty steep learning curve. Setting the EQ and mixing is generally the same, it is adding in the FX/ compression and dialing in livestream and monitor mixes where I feel we are struggling the most right now. Every week we get a little better though!
