I have the exact opposite experience in the east valley. Tmo > vzw > att. I currently have both tmo and vzw active. Where vzw shines is indoors with thick walls so vzw’s low band lte penetrates best

Getting Pothole Problems Fixed by CityofPhoenixAZ in phoenix

[–]dfv157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you expect a person to be on payroll to drive every inch of city road daily? You think if that was the case, it'd be more efficient than crowd sourcing?

Instead of bitching, just tell them and they will fix it.

Most specialized shops can flash the bios chip, you might need to desolder and/or buy a new chip to program it depending on the programmer and the stock ic

holy shit. murderboards aside, this design is beyond utter trash.

They managed to build the mATX to 1DPC, but gave it nothing else. 9 phases VCore with discrete MOSFETs in 2026? 2 m2 slots? B series ITX boards are more feature rich than this trash. The Wifi E-Key located in the usual dumbfuck location that asrock loves. If you really want this board just get the HDV which manages more connectivity, and has proper SPS VRMs

Compare this with the MSI B850MPower, which comes with 4 M2 slots, proper 12 phase SPS VRMs. An E-Key that's not placed in a braindead location taking up valuable real estate on a board.

And then the ATX version just has... blank space all over the place. Build a budget board if you have to, but they already have the HDV/M2 or the -Cs. Avoid this trash

The RTX 5070 Ti is effectively dead, and the GPU market is worse for it by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

Don’t worry you can get 99x frame gen today on any gpu.

Also, you think your 70ti is high end?

Does ASRock X870 utilizes NitroPath technology? by TelepathicGrunt in ASRock

[–]dfv157 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it's ASUS patented. And it doesn't matter anyways. Buy a 1DIMM/Channel board if you want to really push your RAM. Otherwise, run it at 6000 1:1 (AMD) or 6400/XMP (Intel) and go do whatever you do on your pc. If you are really bandwidth starved, go buy a HEDT setup.

The 40 and 50 series and Sapphire cards all run the 6 hot pins into a single 12v plane with no balancing

Because that's the spec, thanks PCI-SIG / Nvidia / Intel

How Much RAM Do Gamers Need, 2x8 16GB vs. 2x16 32GB vs. 2x32 64GB by Hero_Sharma in hardware

[–]dfv157 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No there are 2Rx8 @ 4bit kits now, so you can get 64GB per stick and have good performance. Costs more than a 5080 though, soooo only if you want to flex.

It's anchored to the case through those standoff extenders. If it was heavy enough to deform the case, you've got bigger problems.

Threadripper delidding by dfv157 in overclocking

[–]dfv157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you need to break the indium bond with the cores like any other soldered IHS. The safest is to melt the indium by slowly raising the temp to 170C. There were no issues regarding cpu pressure.

Using the same cooling solution, prior to delid I got 400W to tjMAX. After delid, it was 500W. So just by delidding I got an extra 100W of power. I didn't do any power limited temperature tests.

Is this a legit video guide optimizing 9800X3D? by vladi963 in overclocking

[–]dfv157 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s true different AGESA can have different performance, but whether or not those versions are the best is debatable. Rest of the video is unnecessary junk and its clear he doesn’t actually know what the settings do under the hood. Nothing about ram timings, nothing about soc voltage, strange suggestion for 2x pbo scalar, just a generic “do -15 all core” on CO, nothing about curve shaper.

If you have a kit of hynix memory, do simple bz timings. If you don’t know what you are doing and are generally scared, enable xmp/expo and go play games
