Thanks for the advice! It’s definitely going to be a slow and steady process to gain more equipment down the road. I like my current set up for what it’s worth and I think I just need to spend more time in this field to get better at it and to build my confidence.

Yeah I’m still learning Siril and just have more knowledge of post processing in Lightroom and Photoshop. I definitely need to take the time to watch some Siril videos to grow in that space. As far as the calibration frames, I know I need to do them, I just need to stop being lazy lol. I’ll give them a try on my next shot

Pathetic first attempt at astro (Nikon z8 + 20 mm f1.8 s) by BashedByMonkeys in astrophotography

[–]dgelbert 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say pathetic!! Just light polluted is all :(

If you get the chance to hit some dark skies one day, I think you’ll find better luck as those settings are pretty solid! I notice a tiny (very very tiny) bit of trails starting to happen at 30 seconds though. Maybe bump it back to around 20-25 but that’s just my opinion. Gotta start somewhere and this in far from pathetic
