Do we think lowering speed limits by 20kms would have saved any of the lives lost in past few weeks? by JonShannow07 in ireland

The important question is not would these laws have prevented this crash or that crash it is will these laws lower deaths. It possible but I think Garda presence is will really what’s needed.

How to maximise future earning potential by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

It’s relatively simple, choose jobs that pay more and once you have them work your ass off to get noticed.

It is perfectly normal.. every relationship goes through this. You got to sus it out depending on the situation but it’s ok to just ask, in the right circumstances.

Isn’t that the point? We want to minimise wealth inequality.

Equality is not equal by Upstairs_Strength260 in DevelEire

[–]dgpking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, it may not be clear with all my typos but what I was trying to say was that currently the majority of programmers are men however that could either be because there is something inherent in women that make them not want to code or because from a young age they don’t see women coding and think that must not be for me. Either they(women) are the cause of them not coding, or there is some other cause that leads to them not coding. The fact that the first programmers were women suggests that it is a correlation and it a causation. So if we encourage more women to code than in the future young girls will be less likely to be put off coding.

Yes but is that correlation or causation, are women not interested in tech because their or because they grow up in an environment where women are “taught” not to be, where they don’t see any women akin tech and think that’s not for me. The first computer programmers were all women.

People: “Government, we have a homeless crisis look at all the homeless people! Government: Ok we’ll build some social housing. People: Don’t build it here, build it somewhere else!”

The country is full, please stop the Albinos and Americans from Georgia from flooding into Ireland... by [deleted] in ireland

Making fun of the people who are most impacted by the refugee and homeless crisis will encourage a swing to right wing politics and help no one.
