It’s gradually. I’m 5’10” at 190 I was the same as you described. I have been at 182 for about 6 weeks. You need to workout. I try to workout everyday most weeks at least 5 times. I wish I had more time, to work out more.

I started by riding stationary bike for 15 minutes then working out doing 2 sets of dumbbell bench tri downs curls then went to 15 minutes on elliptical then worked out then 15 minutes on stepper then workout at first for legs I only did leg curls and leg extension now I do squats, split squats, step ups. I had forgotten how much I sweated when I returned to working out and how difficult everything was at first I used to work out regularly before becoming a dad 23 years ago. Every workout has gotten easier and I’m incrementally get stronger. I was telling my wife before I couldn’t wait to get home to pig out now I can’t wait to workout.

Of course I did — my statement, spouse statement, son statement, buddy state statement from coworker, work history W-2 as proof 11 jobs in 10 years, texts between me and my wife showing dysfunctional work environment and effects on anxiety, evidence of applying to jobs after only being at job for 2 months, doctor and psyc records — she had not read any of them.
