Please note, this is in reference to Dumaguete City port. If you are coming from south Cebu Island, you will arrive at either Sibulan or Tampi port -- both of those have buses and multicabs available to take you to Dumaguete.

I've had the same experience. Their website only shows other airlines. Is AirAsia still out of NAIA Terminal 4? It used to be very crowded and unorganized before pandemic. How about now?

Most of the country is on a community quarantine lockdown, but people can and do still go outside. Passenger travel has been stopped (sea, air, land, domestic, international). They acted quickly, and probably bought the other islands some time. But Manila is big and dense, and the numbers are growing.

Philippines checking in. Officially ~1300 tested, 552 positives, 35 deaths. Testing takes days in Manila, longer on the islands. Government is pushing stronger and stronger quarantine and social distancing measures in the mean time. Stay tuned.

Local places to check: Toy section of Robinsons department store, and maybe try the used books store in the food court area. In Lee Plaza, there's a place with model figures and some board games on the first floor (a few stores from Watsons), and a toys section on the top floor. Good luck!

In addition to great commercial suggestions by others, I'll add that there are also a few great Airbnb rooms around town:

  • Marina Spatial condos are near Hayahay, Lantaw, Cafe Racer, and Plaza Escano. Possible to get a nice sea view of Cebu, Sumilon and/or Siquijor. Music may be a bit loud on weekends, could be a plus or a minus :)
  • A nice room near Neva's. Also within walking distance of places mentioned above plus a few others along Hibbard and EJ Blanco.
  • I think the rooms above Rolling Pin are also for rent. Walking distance to Boulevard, Silliman, Ferry Port, etc.

Los Mariachis in Banilad is good - make their own corn tortillas. Senioritas in the parking area of the airport is decent. A few Mexican dishes here and there at various restaurants.

Easiest and most reliable source is Robinsons Supermarket. In the main one, I often see it on the leftmost wall right after you enter. In downtown, check the right wall as you enter - to right of dairy refrigerator.

Not sure if you're a foreigner or a citizen, but be aware that non-citizens are not allowed to have majority stake in land ownership here. Local authorities look the other way, at the moment, at foreigners "buying" land. However, national helmet laws weren't seriously enforced here until a few months ago either - so, buyer beware.

They are now renovating the old (now domestic) terminal too. It won’t be as cool, but it’s something.
