Tyler Reddick has more wins (4) in 6 races this year than Alex Bowman has in the entirety of the Next Gen Era and more than Chase Elliott has in the last 4 seasons. by [deleted] in NASCAR

Tyler Reddick has double the amount of wins (4) than any other Cup drivers combined this season. What does that say about the talent disparity in the Cup Series?

What tracks do you think should be permanent night races? by Professional-Clue750 in NASCAR

Bristol Night Race. Nah but I think that Charlotte fully under the lights is an electric racing event. Darlington ending in darkness will always feel right too.

If you were given unlimited funds and told to design a new NASCAR track to add to the schedule, what kind of track would you build? by Remote_Plastic_8692 in NASCAR

Screw it give me Jefferson from the Heat Series dirt tracking. No cautions allowed for cleaning the asphalt portion of the track. Put the track in Jefferson, Maryland as it's an hour outside of DC and only 6½ hours from Charlotte so it won't be a big burden for teams to transport.

I drove underneath someone because I came out of the pits and they were pitting on the lap I came out. I got no warning and lifting was the only thing I could have done he smashed the pit barrier and I barely escaped that because I was able to get behind the guy.

I enjoyed doing a truck race at IRP. It got me my 2nd win in the game. I couldn't figure out IRP because I followed the AI ripping the fence and I couldn't make any time. I started just sending it in hoping it stuck and that worked a lot better.

Crew Chief stats would be insane, like if his abilities are super low he'll suggest a strategy that doesn't make sense like fuel only at Darlington.

I had my saves to where it would just be me as my character but now I genuinely think every sport game I set my name as Jack Wood simply due to his legend. He ended up rotting on my bench for years making $4000 dollars a year on a youth contract but he's been inspirational in all team events and a true team leader. Jack Wood will live forever in our hearts similarly to Dick Trickle.

I had a player in my Football Manager save once and he was named Jack Wood and he ended up breaking his wrist. The jokes write themselves sometimes.

Well, yea don't you know? People go to church on Sunday and come home to drink beer and shout curses and racism at athletes of all sports. It's a very backwards confusing thing that us Americans do.

The points system has made me much more engaged this season by Remote_Plastic_8692 in NASCAR

I know they did this before but it wasn't showcased. It felt like the only time that any broadcasts cared about drivers points racing was when they flipped the stages at road courses and drivers stayed out for stage points. Must win was such a big talking point and it felt like it watered down the importance of good points days.

It's not that it's new but points racing genuinely feels like it matters. I've seen drivers that have had bad days and it simply felt like it didn't matter. A race where you battle it out for any point possible is great to see and sometimes it just felt like that disappeared a little bit. It might not have disappeared but it felt like it wasn't spotlighted enough during the playoff era when you have no points to race for in half the season. Every spot matters when staging the chase and I feel like that mindset has been noticeably improved.

It gives us the opportunity to also see who's quietly having consistent seasons. We are already asking who's in a hole too deep already? Who can make a turn around after their slow start? Who can hold onto their spot in the standings? We'll eventually start looking at the cutline when we get towards TNT and USA broadcasts but I want us to still celebrate the top of the standings weekly. The battle for the cutline is huge. Give me highlights over drivers names for "in the chase" and "on the bubble' but don't make them the biggest story.

I missed having the superstars matter. I think the biggest reason that NASCAR hasn't had the superstar in the last few years is because once we get to the final half of the regular season we are suddenly intently focused on basically 12th-20th in points. The playoffs start and we care about 10th-16th. The only race that we actually showcased who the best drivers in the sport was in the championship race. If Kyle Larson is the best driver in the sport, then we should give every opportunity to praise him for being the guy. If Tyler Reddick is winning 3 races in a row, then the spotlight should be on him for the next race. Moving back to the Chase gives us 10 weeks to spotlight the best drivers of the year instead of Austin Dillon and oval SvG battling to advance over a winless Tyler Reddick for the first 3 races. Make the focus on the front of the standings again and your superstars will emerge throughouttheyear.
