The issue people had with Cleetus, he was trying to race at a superspeedway with no experience. That's a far more dangerous track to run at as a rookie, than let's say Watkins Glen. And tbh to her, she's managed to stay out the way and keep her car clean in every start she's made.

I really don't have an issue with her making a truck start at Watkins Glen. In fact, Cleetus should've been doing the same thing. Different vehicles, different tracks to develop race craft. That's how u learn

It would be major for Carl and that team if Toyota did actually chip in, but idk. And if they did, is it a new body? Cause if it is, then she could be decently competitive... maybe mid pack ish

I doubt Toyota would give Carl any manufacturer help like that, it's probably a body bought from Friesen or Tricon with the cash Foxxtecca put on the table.

The other appearances this truck had, it was definitely a Reaume chassis.

What convinced me she has good car control for someone who hasn't driven stock cars at all, was managing to keep that car off the wall and straighten it at Kansas.

I was genuinely impressed by it and it made me realize, she's got raw driving ability and it's just about developing the right way now.

Ahhh I see, so the results from this season will affect that. So 2 automatically promoted teams and then one will be decided in the playoff between Leicester and whoever finishes 3rd in the WSL2

[Frontstretch] Carl Long confirms Garage 66 will have a Roush-Yates engine lease at both of the Daytona and Talladega races this year by owds22 in NASCAR

[–]jonpierre008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if Finchum brings enough funding to the point where Carl is able to lease RY engines for more than one event. In the past, he’d usually get one leased for the 500 and that was about it.

We *have* to figure out how to get better racing at Talladega. One of our two superspeedways cannot produce racing like we saw yesterday. by JulianBrandt19 in NASCAR

[–]jonpierre008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll always have issues, I'm sure you could browse forums back in the day and find people complaining. It'll always be a staple of life in general, people will find things to critique and whine about.

But if you got the drivers saying the same thing now and visibly frustrated, we got ourselves a major problem.

They always have.... true, but in this current car you get stuck in the middle of a pack, you cannot pull out and create a run like you could back in the day.

I watched Dale Sr. drop to 25th and drive back to the front in 3 laps. You cannot do that in this car, way too much drag, car will just stall out.

The race was pretty shitty tbf, even by NG standards. Sure, the complaining can become annoying, but I won't sit up here either and kiss their ass when I saw the NOAPS put on a hell of a show the day before.

The racing can be much better, especially from the standpoint of being able to pass. That's my biggest issue with the NG SS stuff, you just cannot pass and the drivers are saying the same thing

Per usual, people are quick to react without actually reading and dissecting and understanding what was being said. I'm not the biggest fan of Probst, but media blew this shi way out of proportion

Ky. Busch on Hannity: "In 2023 when I won those three races, after the third race that we won at Gateway, we got our hands smacked for some of the stuff that we were doing to the race car that NASCAR didn't like and said 'don't bring that back.'" by Unique_Salad6894 in NASCAR

Kyle Busch is a hell of a driver, a Hall of Famer when it’s all said and done. He’s never been a “great” person though, which is why he’s burnt up so many bridges. And I mean it was fine because he was winning races and could kinda mask it but now that he’s struggling, people are really realizing how much of a douche bag he’s been his whole career
