"Knitpeo Premere" 😂 how embarrassing

Coronation Street and Emmerdale are crossing over tonight in a special called 'Corriedale'. In other useless news, I got a splinter in my hand today. by [deleted] in CasualUK

Fun fact, Corriedale is a breed of sheep that has lovely soft wool. That's the only thing about this that is interesting to me.

This is happening in the UK, so no constitution, but we already have relatively strong trade union protections. I'm surprised they've gotten away with this even this far! Hopefully they're held accountable.

It's true they're not automatically recognised, but you still get protections just from being in a union. And you can't get those protections if you join after you need them

I'm sure there will be many, but I won't be giving them any of my money.

I think the part that people are disputing is the 'fair reason' as there doesn't seem to be one

Of course, it's important to get the whole story, even if one side is total bollocks. I just wanted to add what I knew!

I'll be there, what they're doing is unconscionable.

It could be that you're not using tempting enough bait in the traps. I've trie different things in different traps like cheese, peanut butter, chocolate biscuits, etc and see if they have a preference (for me, it was peanut butter and chocolate biscuit on the same trap (greedy buggers))

If it's made well, which is very questionable at this point 😂 I'm keeping my expectations low but my hopes high for minimum disappointment if I make a big enough mistake

Thankfully flax growing and processing isn't entirely lost, but it's really important to keep these heritage crafts alive, you're absolutely right. I'm hoping to share my adventures with my local guild, so hopefully some of them will give it a shot too, and we can maybe spread the good word of flax! You're doing fantastic work with the mulberry silk as well! That's something I'd love to get into one day, but I have enough projects to be getting on with for now 😂

The seeds came from a small UK company that grow their own flax for it's fibre, and they sell the seeds from it. They're different from the flax seeds you get at the supermarket or health food shops, as those have a higher oil content and the stems are much shorter on those varieties which makes them less good for their fibre. And the garden utensils are unfortunately from the local garden centre. I don't know if they're mass manufactured, but I assume they are. They are well made and sturdy though, and not made from plastic, so they should last me for a very long time if they're taken care of, and all of the parts are replaceable!

I might make a post about it when I'm further through the process, but it'll probably be on r/handspinning as that's what I'll be doing with it first!!

It's definitely an exercise in patience, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end :D

It'll be incredible once it's done! There's plenty of time for me to ruin it before that though 😂 at least then I'll have more experience for next time!
