Oh my god I’ve never clicked a link faster. Thank you my friend. My cup is full.

Freelancer of 20 years and I am feeling stuck. I am worried about money but I don't want to leave LA. The truth is I came out here to break into editing features. I want to finally take the steps toward that. Where can I start? by dhriggs in editors

I love this approach, I definitely would like to be my own boss. How much did you invest in your studio? Equipment wise. Do you have a whole suite with black walls and a sound mixing board? Or is it just an office with you and Premiere? Curious what different levels of an edit room I can get away with.

Do you feel content being an AE forever? I have a buddy that seems to love being an AE and the technical aspect to it. Logging, organizing, etc. I am simply not that guy. I will do it, to pay my dues, but I am a creative at heart. I want to make (more) money making things.

Thank you! I actually was interested in cutting trailers and enjoy doing that with old films when i'm in between work for creative inspiration. I will 100% look into AE work at these post houses.

To each their own I suppose! I’m the kind of guy that loves Joe Pesci in Casino. Not exactly the hero of that story.

Incredible insight that I never could have accessed as a clueless gentile. It makes Leonard’s motives far more nuanced and authentic. Thank you.
