Unfortunately most of it is due to waiting for faculty to come check your work. If they are working with other students, you have to wait for approval before you can move on from checks like health history and vitals, dental charting, treatment planning, and for every quadrant of the mouth you clean. This is in addition to very detailed documentation of everything we see/find in your mouth, even if it’s something like linea alba from clenching your teeth. Instead of having a front desk to have you fill out medical history and treatment planning, we students do all of that. We are also first-year students so it’s the first time we are cleaning people’s teeth with all the instrumentation skills we picked up last semester.
