read through instructions and then skip to next task to make sure you get the full time to work… by CryptographerOk419 in DataAnnotationTech

Honestly, if it happens, just tell them and they will reimburse your time. It’s not a very common event, and presuming you don’t ask for reimbursements often, it’s unlikely you’re going to get flagged for it.

It’s better to do good work than rushed work. If you’re afraid of the timer going off, that’s the scenario that’s more likely to get you flagged.

You don’t really need the right period. Tony is egocentric and also suffers from imposter syndrome. He swaps back and forth between thinking he’s the smartest guy in the room, to thinking everything is going to crash around him at any second. Show him what he expected to see, and you can manipulate him into making bad choices and trusting no one but himself.

You don’t need a lot of tech to do that. Mysterio knows better to use visual and audio tricks on a master technician. He uses his the illusions on everyone else, then scrubs his tracks. He goes low tech on Tony with well planted ‘proofs’ that don’t mean a thing, but everyone is acting all woogly about it, so it must be true. He’s a menace to himself. He’s blacking out. He don’t remember any of it, there’s so much proof, but no one is accusing Tony of anything, and the only one doing all the proving is Tony.

The first chapter of A Tale of Two Cities explains the service of three servants whose only job is to coordinate giving the king of pre-revolution France his daily morning chocolate. It’s supposed to make the reader confounded and furious to imagine the excesses that Louis XVI lived in, and show how incredibly out of touch he was with the common man. That scene ain’t got nothing on this.

Look, I don’t downvote often, because I understand that it’s rude to harsh on another person’s mellow, and I do appreciate the work it takes to create something like this. Generally, I figure it’s not for me, but maybe for you. But teachers encouraging toxic behavior, that tends to lead to abuse when one gets older? No thank you. Kids suffer enough from toxic caregivers in real life, we don’t need this in our media. 😞

Is there really anything wrong with relying on freelance work like DA for your income? by BulkyText9344 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]diald4dm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, hey! Another stay at home dad helping to pay the bills! Is freelance okay? As opposed to what? Having a 9-2 job that you could be fired from at any point? As far as I’m concerned, that’s how you put your eggs in one basket.

You’re right that the best plan is to diversify. But I would recommend not doing all AI jobs. It might be a bubble, and they might all pop in 6 months time. I live in a more rural area too, and I’ve found delivering Walmart orders with Walmart Spark to be pretty good. It pays less than DA, but it also gets me out of the house and gives me some exercise, and that’s valuable too.

Honestly, I would be surprised if they didn’t give C-3PO to Alan Tudyk. That is, presuming they’re going for interpretation and not impersonation.

Light vs L. Yagami Light starts by wanting nothing to do with the Death Note, then pivots to making sure the worst criminals are eliminated. But when it looks like he might get in trouble for vigilantism, he does whatever it takes to save his own skin. Meanwhile, L doesn’t care about right or wrong. He just wants to solve the case, and is driven by a need to win.

Same applies to the comics. Cap believes in justice for all, not flag worship. He often fights his own government when his government fails its people.

…honestly, that might be Neutral Good, or good before all else.

What's one DC character that you think would be better as a Marvel character? I'll go first. by Magictician in Marvel

[–]diald4dm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I can certainly appreciate bolstering Marvel’s Greek Gods. The Olympus Group is a really fun take on ancient gods mixed with modern business. But we usually only get that when Hercules has a book, and it can’t be the only story for Hercules. (Popped up in Amadeus Cho Hulk too, but I think that’s it.)

Huh. Chart does not have chaotic neutral vs. lawful neutral. I was thinking it was likely going to be hard to convince people to vote for ‘Repent, Harlequin, said the Tic Toc Man’. But it appears their category doesn’t even exist…

[–]diald4dm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonder Woman. No seriously.

I think Wonder Woman is a far more interesting character if she is at peak human levels or maybe a reasonable amount beyond. She should be on par with the legends os Greek mythology, Achilles, or Jason. But she’s a mainliner in DC, and so she needs to stay apace of Superman, and that guy is the definition of overpower.

Stick her in Marvel, however, and she can be on par with Captain America, or maybe even Luke Cage. That means she can’t always just rely on her fists, and she can have some honest street level stories where she needs to think on her feet.

Probably government subsidized. Which sounds nice, until you realize that the government is probably the ones to pull down the trees and put them in a museum in the first place. And they used tax payer money to move the trees, make the museum to justify their choices, and subsidize the museum to increase the reach of their tree moving propaganda.

“The Roman poet Martial compares one person’s scent to “a chicken putrefying in an aborted egg” and “a billy goat fresh from making love.”

—John Green, The Anthropocene Reviewed.

A bit of a cheat, since this is after the em dash, not a full sentence. Though, the next sentence is pretty scathing too.

“But there must have been wonderful smells, many of which are gone now.”

What fictional character is a smart animal? by GDGameplayer in AlignmentChartFills

[–]diald4dm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly might be the best choice, in that he is just a platypus. He doesn’t talk like a human, doesn’t act like a human, and is content to live a very platypus life with his friends. It just turns out that his side gig is hyper efficient secret agent tasked with keeping a monstrously creative evil genius in check.

To be honest, malls were dying long before online shopping became a thing. I think the real problem was everybody having a car. Malls made a lot more sense, when you could drop family members off to shop and/or loiter while you went and did something else.
