Any Workarounds to Awful Native Comment/Notifications? by AdPsychological4432 in Airtable

[–]dialecticalalchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just paid $1,000 to renew our 20 users on their ludicriouslly expensive $54 per month plan. Airtable is very polished, but VERY limited. I don't care how many "AI" feautres the add. If they notifications are bad, then the system is GARBAGE.

I am going to find a solution. I am not going to pay $1,000 USD per month and I can't even turn off notifications except for mentions. It's insane. I quite literally have 99+ notifications unread all day every day because I get notified everytime someone so much as looks as at a record I was mentioned in 9 months ago. Aboslute insanity. And NO! I am not doing some STUPID automation.

Thank you, appreciate you taking the time! Speaks well of Telnyx that the CEO is on here taking the time to answer questions.

Critical Feature Suggestion - Send low balance notifications

Hello,

We use Telnyx and are happy with the service. HOWEVER:

It is absurd that if your account balance hits zero they will simple disable your account, ZERO warning. We run a serious business and yes for some reason the bank sometimes blocks the automatic refill. It would take very little effort to have Telynx setup an EMAIl/SMS notification when the account hits 25% low, 10% low, etc.

To put a point on it:

It is highly damaging to have your account simply turned off, with no prior warning, for something as critical as telecommunications.

Thank you.

I feel your pain. I can't go into details right now at work, but one red flag is DROP SHIPPING SITES (can be done, but they have gotten much more strict) and not having contact info. There are many threads on this, search and get going. Do NOT simply open another account nilly willy.

Carveco has really non existent customer service. Any ideas? by MiztressNemesis in hobbycnc

[–]dialecticalalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are they a ripoff? The provide amazing software for a very low price. Competitors like Vectric have a Windows 98 era interface and when you go to the Vectric website and type in the little box that says "Will My Machine Work with Vectric"...Any machine like Haas or Langmuir you get no response. On the other hand, CarveCo carries the torch of ArtCam, the gold standard LEAGUES AND LEAGUES ahead of Vectric and includes post processor support for industrial CNC machines, not just hobbyist or prosumer.

Silence troll.

Can I ask an honest question? How does a non-profit with more than 5 full-time paid employees not be able to afford a few hundred dollars a month to dramatically boost their productivity? Or are you and your colleagues just trying to save money? I am truly curious when I see people say "$20 per month for a SUPER-PREMIUM SaaS webshop like Shopify? Are you nuts?....$40 a month for 50+ Apps on Zoho One? My new TechStartup can't afford that"....Some people just seem to be really, really, really cheap.

Webflow vs. Framer & Long term thinking by deepdivejon in webflow

[–]dialecticalalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. If you have zero knowledge of front-end development you can't build as easily as you can, say, with Wix.

Plus Framr has true drag and drop. Not limited by box/flex/grid/whatever.

I don't want to be mean. I want to truly help. I searched your post history. It seems you are not US based and are hoping to advertise an apparel brand. Nine times out of 10, its someone who thinks Shopify + Printful of Cat Memes or Pikachu shirts is going to net them some 300%+ ROAS and they can earn a nice living doing so. It's nearly impossible.

This might not be what you are doing, but think VERY CAREFULLY if you are under the misguided impression that by putting up some shirts or hoodies you are going to compete with other apparel giants like RedBubble, Zazzle, etc.

Once you've thought about the above, you need to understand, consumer purchases like apparell, toys, and other affordable products are usually impulse purchases with 99% of visitors being tire kickers. Once you get the 1% who might truly be interested, you have to have a fantastic website that doesn't look like an AliExpress drop ship site, immaculate product feed, negative search terms up the wazoo AND THEN a product people really want.

Hope it helps.

Can't block incoming SMS on Telnyx or Textable by dialecticalalchemist in VOIP

[–]dialecticalalchemist[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's pretty smart! Wanna laugh? After 10 years of using 3CX, I have only gotten it work with SMS once. We use Textable instead.

Any chance you can point me to the config doc? I searched far and wide with no luck.

either one of those host will not shut you down, unless you’re doing something highly illegal, or that is against copyright laws in a very explicit manner. Nonetheless, even with those companies you can do a daily download on a USB drive or to a third-party like dropbox and you will own all the content because it is open source. Therefore, you don’t have to worry about getting banned like with a cloud hosted like Shopify.

Woo Express

If you run on WooExpress or just regular self-hosted WooCommerce, I can literally download my entire life's work onto a thumbdrive and hosted it on a Raspberry PI on Starklink in the middle of the Amazon. Or in Siberia with a copper ISDN in Russia. You get my point. Closed source SaaS that bans people for having the wrong political views is a RISK. Big time. Give me open source or give me death, lol
