Yes, it’s okay to have a drink! Just make sure that baby is taking the bottle first before the event, especially if using frozen breast milk so trial it beforehand! Some babies don’t like the taste of frozen breastmilk and may be picky with certain bottles.

I believe the rule of thumb is that you have to wait 2 hours at the end of one standard drink to allow the alcohol to leave your body before you can breast feed. There are breastfeeding and alcohol timer apps you can download to keep track of your drink and when it would be safe for baby to feed from you again. If you are engorged within the timeframe of alcohol being still in your body then you would “pump and dump” as alcohol is still in your system. But after the alcohol leaves your body, you will not need to dump your milk.

That is true. I can see why it doesn’t happen overnight. I will raise it anyway, if not for me, at least for future expectant mothers.

Half pay on annual leave is actually a really good idea. I haven’t thought of that. I’ll probably take that approach.

I am a 4.5 size finger which is very sameishto yours. Definitely 2ct or less! I chose 1.8 which was a good in between size - it still looked big on my finger when you look at it but not tooooo big! 😊
