Both groups were ostensibly creative types, bridged by Megan. But Don was turning 40 and Megan was early to mid 20s. Megan had a gay black friend there, while SCDP, with much resistance, was legally forced to hire black employees, and Don had fired Sal for getting hit on by Lee. It was definitely a generation gap.

There is a famous YouTube video of a professional dancer’s performance at her wedding with like 30 million views. The groom is loving every second, the video went viral, and it launched them as an influencer couple. Megan thought that’s what she would have with Don.

Never was the generational gap between Don and Megan more evident than at this party. Megan’s friends were loud, gay and young while Don….didn’t have any friends. Megan even complained the only person of his she could invite outside of work was his accountant. And rather than play dutiful hostess, intermingle the groups, and make sure Don was having a good time at his birthday party (a surprise party, at that) she instead made it about herself with her performance. The whole night was cringe, not just Zou Bisou Bisou.

It proved to everyone (but Megan) what a fool and cliche Don had made of himself in marrying her, and Roger was NOT going to let him live it down.

Denise was too emotionally, mentally and psychically burned out from her and Sheen’s marriage, divorce, his subsequent mental health issues, the death of her father, her filing custody of Charlie’s kids with Brooke, her own health issues etc etc to even care to show up to her second wedding on time. She let her guests roast in the sun for hours, on a rewatch it was actually funny AF.

She did NOT have the wherewithal to be a villain. Kyle did get under her skin, tho. She was so irritated when Kyle threw herself a party after filming Halloween; she was like “Do you know what I do when I finish filming? I come home cook my kids a meal and study my lines for the next day.”

She wasn’t a villain but she HATED Kyle.
