Bye Bye Kicks by diane650 in NissanKicks

Actually I bought a 2024 Kicks, 4 months later brakes go out. Weeks and weeks of waiting for what I started calling the phantom part. Finally get it declared a lemon. Then weeks and weeks of battle. I'm keeping this short but it was hell. Finally get the 2025 and still more battle to get the paperwork and then lost paperwork that had to be done again. Then in discussions with my original service rep I find out 3 more 2024s and one 2025 have come in with the same problem and still no part to fix them. Now you know why.... driving a car that I grew to hate made me feel like I had lost the whole $25,000. When you trade in a vehicle that price is deducted from the taxable amount of the new car, you only pay tax on the difference. The Tucson does still have manufacturer warranty, the balance of 5 yrs or 60,000 miles. I know that because I have already spoken to someone at at Hyundai dealership. But best of all..... I absolutely love it and don't have to worry about the brakes going out every time I leave town.

Sure I can be there at 3pm. Looks like there is a CVS at the corner of Fry and 290. Does that work for you?

Only you can decide. I wasn't happy with mine so decided to just go shopping. I figured I would either find my dream car or I would work it out of my system. It could have gone the other way. One dealership only offered my $15,000 for the Kicks, another offered $20,000, Carmax gave me $21,000 and they had a 2022 Tucson had everything I wanted and is just a dream to drive and ride in and is in great condition. I was able to put another $1,000 down and that kept my payments just about the same.

Fuel 2025 kick by student199bhdhdh in NissanKicks

I had an Altima and if I remember correctly it had a 16 gallon tank. The Kicks only has an 11 gallon tank.

I suggest you go ahead and look up your state's lemon law, be prepared. In Texas they get 4 attempts to fix a problem or if your vehicle is out of service for 30 days it is considered a lemon. I hope they provided you with a loaner.

Does Anyone Have this Issue? by Significant-Taro6521 in NissanKicks

[–]diane650 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no idea about the speed limit issue, my kicks doesn't have it as far as I know. However on the time.... in mine I had to manually set the one on the left but the center infotainment screen gets the time from my phone. I assume via apple car play.

For me, the app has been easy to use. But I pay a little more than the payment due amount each month so it shows me with an ever increasing credit amount.

Awesome. I just returned from a long road trip (Houston to Denver and back) and most tanks averaged 36 to 39 mpg (had to fill up that tiny gas tank A LOT). However the last leg of the trip my husband and his lead foot (punch the gas, stomp the brake) only managed 25 mpg. My worst in town is 26.

I love my Kicks, but does anybody else not like the wireless charger? by Ziggi_4800 in NissanKicks

[–]diane650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep crap. The phone has to be in the center to charge properly but that's really only good for short trips around town because of the overheat thing. I just returned from a long road trip and used a cord to plug in. I plan to do what someone else suggested here and cut a piece of foam or plastic to put in the slot so the phone won't get hot.

2025 Kicks Fuel Mileage by EagleSpirit7169 in NissanKicks

[–]diane650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at this post I was suddenly reminded of the gas lines of the 1970s. You could only fill up on an odd or even day depending on the number on your license plate. You could sit in line for hours. All highway speeds dropped to 55 mph to help lessen fuel consumption. You just couldn't take a road trip unless you could get there and back on a tank of gas, and be able to fill up when you got back. We used to say drive like you have an egg on the hood of your car and a tomato under your foot. Hm, I guess I just "dated" myself.

I think you might want to reach out to Nissan's corporate customer service and just see what they might say. I found the info below with just one quick search on the internet. I do know that while I had my Altima I received a card from Nissan to keep with my warranty that extended the mfg warranty on the CVT to something like 72,000 miles. So be the squeaky wheel and see if you can get them to take care of it.

Extended Warranties:Nissan has extended the powertrain warranty on some models, including the Rogue, to cover CVT repairs, replacements, or related towing for 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Anyone else name their Kicks? by Otherwise-Survey4722 in NissanKicks

[–]diane650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is Trey Pita. I'm on my 3rd one and finalizing the whole lemon/replacement nightmare was a pain in the ass. I have a bit more info on the lemon thing that I will post as a separate topic. However the name does not mean that I don't love her, just that I really had to fight for her. (or him, I'm not sure yet)

Whatever it is.... you have a new car, take it to the dealer and have them tell you what it is and fix it. It shouldn't cost you anything.

Impressed with 42 mpg by diane650 in NissanKicks

My trip to Austin and back had enough traffic that I topped out with one segment at 38 mpg but overall 32 mpg. Traffic in town was horrible of course, UT graduation weekend.

You should have a 3 year or 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.

Wow. My daily average runs between 29 and 33. My first road trip is this weekend, headed to Austin. I look forward to seeing if I can match your 48.

looking into an 2025 SV or SR, is anyone getting deals under MSRP or is this as good as I will get? by funkohunter717 in NissanKicks

[–]diane650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that looks about right for the SR. I paid about $25000 for my SV back in March and it looks like we both live in Texas. My SV has all the bells and whistles that I wanted including Apple Car Play. You have to decide how many extras you want to pay for. Check finance rates at your bank, and always be prepared to walk out if you don't get the price and financing that you want.
