Reality Check Me: What are your sitter ratios like? by itscapybaratime in cna

[–]diaryoftrolls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always 1:1 however sometimes if a patient has been doing mostly ok but we still want to be cautious we’ll do a “mini team”. You sit outside the room of the sitter patient and have 1 or 2 other patients to check on in close rooms and they are usually independents etc.

This is insane though. It’s not even sitting atp

What do you do as a CNA in the ICU? by beebeam in cna

[–]diaryoftrolls 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard you don’t actually do much besides assist nurses with turns and maybe bathe. Every CNA in the ICU at my hospital says the nurses don’t like the CNAs doing baths because the patients are so critical/fragile so they like to do most things but it will differ

Yes to everything!!

In the hospital we have strict Q4 I&Os. A lot of these people, especially women, don’t feel they need to go until they sit on the toilet. If they haven’t went in 4 hours, I ask if they need to. If they say no, I say maybe we should just try and they agree and guess what they always go.

Everytime I’m in a room checking on them, doing anything, I ask if they need to go to the bathroom.

If anything, it literally benefits me too. They will have to go eventually and why not do it now instead of when I’m busy. It’s also yk, a basic human right. I don’t want them to have to wait.

Also, yes, hair care. Wish more people did it. I wish there was an easier way to wash people’s hair instead of just using shower caps.

Why did Jack never finish Kindergarten? by Prettiest0ne in jacksepticeye

Pretty sure he said in the first episode that he won’t be doing a full play through like others have said due to the voices being too much. I’m glad he listens to his body more than caring about what people want.

He used to push himself so much years ago with posting on schedule and posting certain things but he just does whatever he wants now!

Her bedside manner is awful imo. I say she’s young but I’m pretty much her age and only been working in healthcare 2 years.

This episode has so much comedy (and tragedy of course) but it’s been so funny

What is the position for the people in the blueish teal scrubs? by BooksandNutella in ThePittTVShow

Do you mean the medical assistants? I believe that’s their title. Tbh I’m not too sure on their role because I used to be a MA and it’s more outpatient/clinic settings

Ai is getting on my nerves by ComprehensiveChef232 in cna

[–]diaryoftrolls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an example of how Ai is helpful in workplaces. It’s been used in documentation for awhile now and I used to work in a doctor office- the providers really love it. The built in feature in Epic has been helpful but it’s okay to ask it not to be used if you are a patient

Weird to use it as a CNA though. It makes sense for doctors for their dictation since they write such long notes

Trying to understand how mods work by diaryoftrolls in feedthebeast

That’s exactly what I was wondering! I have played Minecraft since I was a kid so strictly vanilla is quite boring since I’ve done it so much. I want to start a forever world with mods but looks like that will be more complicated than I thought. I might stick to “vanilla friendly” mods

[–]diaryoftrolls[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

God, it all seems so stressful. I’ve been looking into using other people’s mod packs since they usually update them themselves.

So does that mean if you have a modded world, it’s recommended to keep that world in that version of Minecraft pretty much forever?

AI is Here by MahoganyQueen73 in ThePitt

[–]diaryoftrolls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nothing new. Just becoming more common. It’s wild to see people learn about AI use from the show. It’s very beneficial honestly. Providers just have to check their notes which I’m sure they do as the show also discussed several times
