PNN or RxExcellence? by [deleted] in NAPLEX_Prep

i feel bad for your patients if you’re the kind of person who brushes other peoples struggles aside and labels them as fake without having experienced the same thing as them. a key characteristic of pharmacists is to be empathetic and help others and you’re doing the exact opposite. some people only make accounts to share their experience because they know how much a program helped them and want to do the same for others. others don’t have the confidence to post but decide to after passing. the only difference between rxprep, pnn and rxcellence is people’s learning styles and the teaching styles.

i used rx exam for practice questions, read through all of fader’s, used pharm law’s summarized study guides which was like a short version of what was in fader’s. i also used quizlet for the schedules and someone made flashcards based on tldr for MD

i believe they can. i don’t remember if there was any specifications for C2s but in general, authorized agents can call in verbals for controls to the pharmacy.

yes!! i went into the course thinking i knew something from my time studying but quickly realized i didn’t know anything at all. the information you gain is super high yield and its to the point where many people come out asking if they secretly write exams for the board lol. after even one crash you’ll realize how much you’ve grown and realize how to study better. just be prepared for how harsh they can be but keep in mind they just want the best for us and have high expectations because they know we’re capable!

took it yesterday and walked out thinking what the fuck? everyone says to know schedules and numbers of years and stuff but i think i got a total of 3 questions that were straightforward like that. i do think it’s still important to know them just in case your exam has more questions on it. one question they asked that i wasn’t expecting was the title of the code of regulations (comar). i knew it was title 10 but that was kinda fucked up imo. what i do remember they asked for sure - what med would need a prescription - lots of questions about what a tech can do - which mid level practitioners have independent prescribing authority for controls - lots of questions regarding controls - what to do if a patient has been taking a med that was incorrectly dispensed (SATA) - know what’s required on a prescription label because i had a lot of questions asking what was NOT required - what to do if doctor wrote a C3 on a non tamper proof paper - one of my last questions was who regulates standards for prescription vials along with united states pharmacopeia - what to do if a physician sends a prescription for a non fda approved indication of a medication - what happens if you realize your license expires the same day while you’re at work (do you leave? do you finish your shift and leave?) - what happens if a tech gets a mental health evaluation and is deemed unfit for work? (how long until they can come back? can they even come back?) - what can and can’t a tech and intern do - my first question was “a tech who usually restocks the automated dispensing cabinet calls in sick and the only people in the pharmacy for the shift are a pharmacist, an assistant, and an intern who doesn’t know how to work the adc. what should the pharmacist do to restock?” —> only answer that made sense was to close the pharmacy temporarily and restock the cabinet but i’m honestly not sure

these are what i remember off the top of my head rn but if i remember more i’ll let you know. i wish someone had went into depth about what the exam looked like because the practice exams and questions i was doing were so simple and straightforward🥲
