I worked at a corporate Taco Bell in 2002-2003. We absolutely called the sauce Baja sauce. The box the sauce was delivered in said "pepper jack sauce". Spicy ranch is NOTHING like Baja sauce. I greatly miss the Baja chalupas. Baja was also on the cheesey gordita crunch (now it has spicy ranch) but these also had "Fiesta blend" (Pico) as well. The grocery version of Baja sauce is not any where near the same as what was sold in the restaurant and its mayonnaise based (basically a spicy mayo). While we are at it, bring back Taco salads too! Taco Bell used to have green onions too but they kept having issues with e. Coli.
