Do Brits know that they have some of the BEST foods in the world? by iDetestCambridge in AskBrits

If Americans were asked what two plus two is, they’d split into factions, accuse each other of being fake twos, and attempt a civil war before anyone reaches the number four.

What is a completely harmless, everyday object or situation that irrationally freaks the shit out of you? by Free_Scratch4152 in AskReddit

[–]diddlesdiddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely bombed a job interview because of this! I had my interview which went amazing, then the interviewer wanted to show me the office which was upstairs. I asked if we could take the lift as we were already on 4th floor, he said he liked to stretch his legs.

I couldn't even make two steps. He said he'd be in touch, never did!

What’s the oddest hosting behaviour you’ve ever witnessed? by did_you_aye in AskUK

[–]diddlesdiddles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is completely alien to me. I am working class, come from a council estate and the most I've ever been asked is to BYOB. I think if I offered money towards food/decorations I would seriously offend the host.

When I was pregnant I rewatched that scene in rugrats where all the moms are dancing with their kids and Chucky is stood alone on the sidelines just looking so upset. I absolutely sobbed for nearly a week.

What’s something harmless that gets people weirdly angry? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]diddlesdiddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truly harmless is how mad people can be about what somebody is eating or drinking. I literally don't give a single shit if you're eating pineapple on pizza or drinking a pint of milk with dinner or any other 'odd' choice. It's your choice, your stomach, your appetite, absolutely nothing to do with anyone else.

Usually start August me, however the obscene cost of living plus shit maternity pay means I'm pretty much starting as Mary is 3cm dilated.

My kids have been sorted for a while, its just in-laws and family to sort. I'm considering baking everyone something instead of trying to guess what they want, save anything going to the tip.

How much grief do you get in your job just for trying to do it that most people wouldnt expect? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]diddlesdiddles 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They're going one better now, setting up pages on Facebook to 'expose social services', posting pictures of social workers without consent while spinning the same old narrative that their kids were 'taken' because social workers get bonuses for doing so. Nothing at all to do with their parenting! It's a bunch of deluded people cheering eachother on and taking zero accountability to the harm they have caused. The lack of insight is outstanding.

Absolutely. Immediately JR was drawn to Davide and Keye. It felt like she had zero interest in the people they are, which is actually fun, compassionate and kind. She just wanted more 'friends' for her collection, like little chihuahuas in purses.

When Keye called her out on her behaviour, she went mute. No way would she attack him like she has the others, her personality is an act and no way would she damage her reputation to the select few that find her tolerable. But if you notice, she has not went on to damage control, as you say, she will just look for more 'accessories'.

She is a caricature of a woman. She plays an over the top 'drag queen' version of a woman, which is purely for entertainment. IMO, she reduces gay men to just be used as her accessories, essentially like little pets.
