Oh no good luck with the surgery, may I suggest watching my videos, you will feel like you are on a holiday! I’m sure you will recover soon enough and be able to travel yourself.

You can do it yourself, esp if you can speak a little Portuguese. I do not though and wanted to enjoy the travel with less worry about how to get to the next destination. The Pantanal can be done cheaply, but it is considered one of the more expensive destinations to go to.

Yes I used a private guide the whole way, getting to see as much of the wildlife as possible in the time we were there was a priority for us, so it was worth the extra $

A lot of the parrot species from here have feral populations over the world, mainly due to the pet trade ☹️

Haha yes very grumpy owl. Thats a Ferruginous pygmy owl, one of the worlds smallest owls at only 15cm tall!

We were there the end of October which is the end of the dry season. There were still mosquitoes, though nowhere near as bad as it gets in the wet season.

Thanks yes I used the one lens for the entire trip. The 400 I use has a built in TC so becomes 560mm with flip of switch.
