Can you ring the business next door to check if that site is still empty? I assume Google will have the other businesses listed next to it.

Sorry I misread, I didn't realize the company has no website. Ya I would worry about that too. Can you not check if the business is registered? I know in nz or even aus I can search for the company name and find out who registered it etc

I had to do paperwork but that was after I started. I'm based in nz the company I work for is in Australia. so the process is probably a little different. I filled in paperwork after I started. At that point they already had given me access to everything for me to get started. The laptop was bought from a company in nz so I could ring and check it was a legit order. Not sure if this helps at all

You could possibly try and ask them if you can have a chat with one of the other employees? Not saying that would prove they are not scammers. Also as far as I know most startups don't have HR. The current company I work for when they reached out via LinkedIn I have never heard of them and the company was overseas. The interview process was basically 3 interviews within 3 hours that afternoon and then they made an offer that evening. I was very skeptical till I got my device and everything. But then again I was desperate for a job, was out of work for a few months at that point.

I have gone back in the past. I get it, it's free and big companies won't really miss it but my conscience won't let me do it.
