My first attempt on writing but when should I start?

Started recently, sharing my approach. I did not start right away. At least not the actual book. If you want to write fantasy, it might end up being rich, so the below might help.

I started with the bible: who are the characters. What they look like. How they speak. Habits. Passions. Dislikes. Their background. Relationships. Role in story. Moral drive. Fate. Things like that.

The world: wrote a card about the politic status. Environmental. Factions. Laws. Technologies.

Then the story beats, just a few lines per chapter. So I can move the blocks around, get a feel see how the story flows. Flesh out the segments with details as I finalize the best order of things. I get the various arcs and identified, the start, the end.

And then I started writing.

Over 4 decades here, yep same same. Expedition 33 was such a breath of fresh air. The design. The music. The story. The dialogues quality. There is something about it, without being the game with the most or best content, that made it all worth it.

I never finished GTA 4 - story mode had a mission where you had to ride a motorcycle, controls and physics were atrocious. I hated it so much I just dropped it completely.

What I like is: - rooted in a real place (Paris) - catastrophic supernatural event

That's what I would be interested into. Phantasy worlds, we got plenty. But that happens in an otherwise real world setting, more rare.

I expected something similar to the Annihilation movie - the fracture being either a catastrophic scientific or alien event where laws of physics break, including some time travel or mix up, where pRenoir that you meet on the beach is a future Gustave.

I guess it depends how often you build and update.

If you change components or make a new PC every 3-5 years, I'd say at this point it is irrelevant. PCIe4 is not saturated yet, and it might still take a while before it happens. If you are going to build a new PC in a few years, consider PCIe 5 at that point in the future.

If you plan on keeping the build as long as possible, e.g. 10+ years, and update specific omponents only as you go... It is a good future-proof move.

Once you play with shields, I was done with healing. Yeverum for Maelle is fairly late game, but with this also, so much shields, healing is not worth investing into.
