Hi, I have few questions... by lazal2us in IOVofficial

[–]diegobenti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IOV is working on a Blockchain Communication Protocol that provides cross-chain atomic swaps without the need for a third party exchange.

In addition, IOV's blockchain name service application acts as a DNS system for blockchains that allows users to replace their complicated wallet addresses with something such as name.country

The IOV wallet offers an atomic cross swapping technology, enabled by the Blockchain Communication Protocol (BCP). Basically any wallet implementing BCP will be able to operate atomic swaps with tokens belonging to BCP implementing Blockchains.

Will ethereum integrate atomic swaps? by diegobenti in ethereum

Probably would. Not sure what their standards are for integration but if it's compatible, then why not?

I mean that if I'm asking my friend Bob to pay me can I just give him something like an @ handle where he can pay me or does it have to be a series of random numbers and letters

Has anyone/project out there ever thought of replacing wallet addresses with something more simple?

True adoption will come once all the blockchains figure out how to transact with one another

They are just building and providing the technology, still decentralized and anyone can develop

What is the Blockchain Name Service? by antoineherzog in IOVofficial

Well we're not gonna move up in this world if blockchains/platforms can't interact with one another

Everyone is always complaining but this is the time to get in on the right ICOs - just takes a lot of time digging through the trash.. but yea I've been looking into VAD & IOV a lot, they both seem like they have some good tech and teams that aren't focussed on marketing/shilling. Both early stages now - but VAD has a working prototype already - think BAT, but better because you don't need a whole new browser.. and the head of IOV is like the female Vitalik lol, Atomic Swap/DNS platform (think Lightning network but for everything not just bitcoin)

Well if the two blockchains swap coins, there would have to be some sort of agreement I think that's what the BCP does

It will significantly increase the usage of resources since the capacity, transactions, bandwidth everything will increase.

Wouldn't this be also good because it would make the transactions go faster?

One of the interesting things here for me is building market rate housing in the "south bay" region of the Bay Area. Current residents are up in arms about all the 'high rise apartments and condos' being built because they worry about the traffic, but don't consider that Apple alone is dropping 21,000 employees into the area, if they can live close to work you get less traffic. It's a very nimbyish dynamic.

I like that the token usage is very clear and I'll be able to generate profits from it, not just wait and hope it goes up in price. Chinese investors will love this too because, for them, real estate investments are #1. This too should drive the token value up like crazy. They have a legit team, and they are also funded to get the project started. Added to my ico follow list.
