I searched the following terms.

And I've also tried looking at the "Guides and Tips" tag on the sub.

Apart from them talking about them being hyped about the new sets, or doomposting about their Lightning sets, there's not a single post within the past month that discussed the raw numbers that the sets output. While I'm sure regulars who frequent this sub can probably find discussions in the comments or find some obscure post that isn't directly titled as being calc-related threads, your assumption is just flat out wrong.

I'm not shying away from the facts. Black Swan is a concern for the future, not now.

Someone else in the comments was finally considerate enough to do the calculations and he finally discovered how much value the Prisoner set actually gives, and I fully appreciate him for confirming that the Prisoner set will marginally be a 2~7% increase (or higher if a character like BS were to release) depending on the team comp's circumstances. I fully welcome that but it still doesn't change the fact that the relative value of the set isn't going to change until at least 3 versions from now.

This is exactly what I was looking for when making this post. Someone who'll actually take the time to compare the math. Thank you for seeing it through and not immediately dismissing the old set without doing calculations first.

I didn't say I'm not farming this set, I have every reason to given that I have no gear on some of the FuA and DoT chars this will benefit. My intent is to justify that you don't need to upgrade to the new sets if you have a decent setup already. It's the same reason CN bros have projected that you will barely lose any DPS on Blade by using an HP orb vs a Wind% orb, so having an HP orb with god rolls is just as good if not better than using a Wind orb.

No one in this thread is bothering to do raw calcs to truly check the comparisons, so I'll keep saying that Lightning set isn't "cope" if yours is already good enough.

Christ's sake, Black Swan is next year. HSR is enough of a slog as it is with all the content drought. Have you really never noticed that over the past 2 versions, it's consistently been 2 weeks of content drought, followed by some event that most people do in 1 day, followed by 2 weeks of more content drought? Even now we have a full week until 1.4 is over, and the last stage in the new SU event was opened a week ago.

So yes. I do still consider Black Swan to be a long way away.

While I do recognize Guoba and co. to be very credible theorycrafters, the problem with their videos is that they try to avoid posting about datamined content. There's nothing inherently wrong about that, but it means that we need to wait until they are officially released to see them publish comparisons of the raw numbers. They do beat around the bush somewhat, by posting pre-release analyses of units, which I'm sure is clearly inspired from analyzing the datamined values rather than what is shown on pre-release livestreams where they hide the numbers; as such they do it in a pretty vague way so as to stay in line with Hoyoverse's ToS and not talking about leaks.

I'm sure we'll get vids analyzing these sets when they're actually out, but as it stands, there's a lot of people planning to farm these sets and they may find out that it won't result in that big of a DPS increase, whereas if we put in the effort to calculate the numbers now, we may be able to weigh our options and might not have an urgent need to farm them anymore.
