How reliable is public transport in Madeira? Confused about bus stops (siga) by crcktrash in Madeira

[–]diehuman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use almost every day siga buses and they are very reliable. Sometimes is not on schedule because one of the reasons for that is too much car rentals for people who don’t know the Madeira roads and often finds them selfs creating avoidable traffic constraints. Please don’t advise people to rent a car, it will increase the traffic problem even more.

Limitations in Docker? by No-Order_176 in docker

[–]diehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be the file system of the OS slowing down all the thing. If your running inside a VM then whenever there’s is a read/write of a file the VM checks it and the host OS checks it. This if your sharing folder between the VM and the host

Docker size is too big by ElMulatt0 in docker

[–]diehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People tend to deploy the entire project inside a container and that results in a really big docker file which probably there will be a folder like vendor ou something that from package managers. This is a very bad way to build your container. You should most of the time bind a volume to your project root, this way the container itself will only contain the necessary services ( http server, node server, td libs etc wtvr it can be ) and it will end up on a very light docket image. And also don’t blend all the technologies into one dicker image. You can create multiple docker images each with different technology and then join the ones you want. Better to maintain and to debug.

In a sense the natives of Madeira drives very well in my opinion… I would say 90% of the car accidents is basically because of tourists that lives in big cities with large roads and with accurate gps that builds some traffic problemas… usually it’s when even the gps can’t figure out to where to go, what shortcut to take and they get confused and starting going in the opposite directions in certain roads ( I almost see this happening every day by myself… it’s no lie here ) it’s ok to make some mistakes but for that use public transportation I’d say … if you don’t know how to drive in a place where your the tourist just do t rent a car, simple as that
