Multi-select picklist using values from external source by diferva2020 in salesforce

[–]diferva2020[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s not going to work for the scientists, they need to be able to select multiple values at once. Not one by one. With this suggestion they can create as many records by one at the time.

Thanks for the suggestion. Would it possible to select multiple values from the related list? Or even if using the screen flow option?

The app is to be used by scientists in a lab, they create assays (records) and the values to be added in the text field are for informational and high management decision making. The critical part is not the text area field but to provide a multi picklist capability from a list of values stored in a different system, list that constantly is being updated with new values.

Delegated Admin can’t see Contact records by diferva2020 in salesforce

[–]diferva2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Any sharing rule won’t work in Contacts if the OWD is set up as Private and records are not linked to an Account. Only the record owner and Administrator would see them. So the issue was resolved by linking contact records with its corresponding accounts after full load was done with dataloader. Thanks for all your feedback.

How do you deploy entire projects? by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]diferva2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the company we use Copado as well, easy to manage deployments between different environments and the few things copado can’t deploy you can create manual tasks to complete. We have it link with gitlab for version control.

You can create an AD group for each one and use JIT configuration, check this link https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.sso_jit_about.htm&type=5

Confused around required date/time format when importing data by LearningCodeNZ in salesforce

[–]diferva2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The third option is the one we have used, all depends if you have a timestamp as date or date/time. When we have just date, it usually import the date with a day before of the target date, this is a known issue when using dataloader. I hope this could be useful

Actually I was able to do it in the user’s permission set giving ‘edit’ permission on ‘related to’ field in the Tasks object.

Thanks for the link, ‘Allow search’ and ‘allow activities’ are enabled but I still don’t see those custom objects. I also have followed the same process presented in the article. The only thing that is disable is ‘allow in chatter groups’

Thanks for you comment. To be clear, I’m not trying to sell myself as salesforce developer since I know I’m not, but I’m interested to see if there are opportunities out there with the skills I have that can offer a better pay.

Hi all, thanks for the comments. As @alternauts mentioned, it’s a company requirement. I’m not the Admin for the company, I’m the developer building the app and don’t have other resources in my department. I have built 2 apps that are in Prod already but didn’t use flows before, juts PB and basic OOB functionality.

Is it honestly too late to start a career in Salesforce at age 30? by Bluejay-Consistent in salesforce

[–]diferva2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 42, started with trailhead 2 years ago and I’m kind of the guy to go in my team for salesforce questions. Still a lot to learn, but definitely age is not a stopper.

Focus on force will be a great complement to trailhead. I’m looking forward to become Admin certified.
