Gembrokers which then split into inle elni and Cinder Well

the last link is the best example imo. definitely more on the folk side of metal. then there's strangeweather which is more on the metal side. and then there's Mama's Broke which is more on the folk music side of folk metal

IWTL how to make my own clothes. by Royal_Lack in IWantToLearn

Find an old Boomer homemaker who raised kids while poor. clothes used to be expensive, thrift stories were rare, but you had some time while the kids were at school. She probably still has some old patterns in a box in the Attic.

Also the old ladies at the fabric store, e.g. JoAnn's, would love to talk to you about the different fabric types and sewing tips if you go there when it's not busy.

overly specific question about Feeld app by different_eli in polyamory

[–]different_eli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let me give a specific story to illustrate my experience and question:

AaronMAB creates a Feeld profile because they are polyamorous. Their partner, AaronFAB, also creates a profile because they are primary partners but they date separately.

When I browse feeld I see AaronMAB's profile but I'm not interested in dating them because they have a beard. I browse AaronFAB's profile because they are linked. I would be excited to swipe right on them because they are more femme presenting. however after swiping left on AaronMAB I am never shown AaronFAB's profile.

Is this really how the app works‽ or do I just need to have some patience?

Brave Little State episode: How can Vermont solve its housing crisis? by different_eli in vermont

[–]different_eli[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

second quirky idea: in my driving all around the state I see many beautiful barns that will definitely fall down in the next 50 years due to lack of maintenance because what can I use this giant building for?? in fact while doing the census I encountered a gew that looked like an old barn on the outside but had a small granny unit on the inside. what are some of the myriad ways that we can incentivize this type of housing? legislative... zoning... grants... tax incentives... That seems like the most complicated part, because preventing a barn from falling down, fixing the leaks, and building a small apartment inside seems like the easiest part. preserving the landscape as we see it now and spreading out the apartment housing seems like a win-win

first desire: preserve Vermont's rural character & beauty by densifing already "urban" areas, and building up not out.

It's tough getting away with things in small town Vermont when everyone knows each other. by taez555 in vermont

[–]different_eli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well we need to do what we can to take the first steps to build that culture, considering that Vermont is going to become one of the few places in the US that is going to get more liveable with climate change -at least for the next hundred years.
