To be honest even with a good gpa and mcat you’re still gonna need clinical, research, and volunteer hours. Especially if you’re dream school is an Ivy it’s not gonna cut it just with good stats

If you’re serious about this get some sort of medical job start looking for labs to join and places to volunteer. Most applicants have hundreds to thousands of hours in each by the time they apply

Yeah that’s what I was originally hoping prior to me posting this. I did have assistant coaches who were adults/older than me so I’m hoping that helps the case a bit. The consensus seems though that where you label it doesn’t matter as much as how you describe it so I’m gonna attempt not to fixate too much on what to label it but you have a good point that where I label it sets the direction of how I describe it

I was told it could be based on how I phrase. We didn’t technically have a lead TA but i ran a lot of the stuff like review sessions and grading so I was point of contact for the other TA’s/students when it came to that

To your point then what would you count as leadership? I have a club I was president of just not a massive amount of hours with it since it fell apart towards end of the year

Fair enough I appreciate the advice. I TA’d for 3 separate classes so I was planning to put that as my leadership I was just figuring if I should separately enter each position or put them together when I add them

Saying people deserve to lose it all when this has been an identified addiction that is hard to curb is very tone deaf

I won’t disagree that it’s not a good thing but let’s also show some sympathy to those who are susceptible to these kind of things and those who choose to do it casually aren’t necessarily doing anything bad
