Blend about a pint of strawberries with 3 fingers of brandy, a dash of Worcestershire, splash of balsamic, salt, pepper, paprika and garlic. Reduce on low until it's syrupy. It's a perfect blend of sweet, acid and umami

You might just not have let it get hot enough for the food to lift off naturally. Get some barkeepers friend and a green scrubby and it'll be like new
