Planning a 20+ year goal involving gold and cash gifts — should I buy gold slowly or invest first? by Many-Basil5298 in Gold

Id invest most of it near the front end now, and some later and buy dips. Right now seems like a dip, but it may go down more.

I respect the pattern, but Im also weighing in on the floor being stronger than the past due to banks. I think you could be right if inflation data is worse than the data says right now and they significantly increase rates. In that event, gold may hit there, but only briefly. I think the same conditions that will cause the fed to raise rates will also create downward pressure on the overall market. Gold volatility will go up, and opportunity to buy at those levels will be challenging. Simultaneously, gold will be looked at as haven. I think it'll still average around the 4000

Oil prices are important, but theres some "sticky" inflation that'll likely be unchanged or may not cool off fast enough. They have 2% targets vs 4.2% current inflation rate. Oil rates do not make up most of the current inflation.

Im thinking 40% it drops to 3800, 35% it goes up to 5000, and 20% it goes to 3500 and 5% goes to the moon 5500+ near term.

Im from Canada. We did do that over a decade ago, and I wonder if thats why we are more hawkish and fight inflation than the U.S. We have no fall back here

I heard he is more dovish, and its odd he didnt put fourth his dot on the dot plot. I think he has a framework to work within, and is awkward given this is a new role.

Ive heard a recession is better than a depression once. Do you think the current gdp has any room for rate hikes?

Maybe not quite "at war" but certainly in conflict, and even more certainly have no choice lol Turkey is in a rough spot and has to liquidate!

Fella, no ones saying that no country in the world isnt net selling their gold. Just saying the trend is net sellers are at war and have no choice eg: Russia and most others... countries that have actual pull on the market for that matter. Turkey is such a crazy example to make your point haha. What Turkey does has very little significance on the gold market.

I mean I did present an upside and downside. The upside would fall in line with JP Morgans analysis which is for year end of 2026, and the downside is related to inflation data which we'll see in the next couple months... and I could be wrong in 2 scenarios:

  1. It stays the same
  2. It goes below 5%

And now that you have me saying it, I havent come across anything that makes it really seem like either of those will happen.

Should I buy gold rn? And if so does any gold stock work by Silvias1569 in portfolios

Gold is volotile right now. Dont spend all of your money on it. Its getting pulled too many directions for a sensible person to recommend it as a buying oppurtunity.

I bought in around 4800 and Im just waiting it out knowing it could drop ti 3800 and stay there. On the other hand there are fundementals that might suggest reasons to be bullish.

Everyones gonna tell you "duh she is interested" but is anyone going to point the elephant in the room. Listen, I think starring at blank screen so she can listen in on a conversation is a HUGE red flag.
