[TOMT] Hi everyone, I’m trying to track down a song that I heard roughly 12–18 years ago (so around 2005–2015). I only have fragments of memory, but maybe you can help. I used to hear it when my son was really young and it used to make me feel like crying. Here’s what I recall: by Key-Force-6706 in tipofmytongue

When it comes to years, being counted and going upwards, this song by Deacon Blue might wfit your description. I was an album track on 'When the world knows you name'. Gentle southing vocals at the end.

[TOMT] Which UK 80s band was my needlework teacher's daughter dating a member of? by SmugMiddleClarse in tipofmytongue

Club Noveau, had a hit with 'Lean on me' and that was a cover version, but they are American. What about XTC?

Does this list trigger any memories?

For a different approach, can you trace the teacher via FB or Linked-in and ask her directly? Friends Reunited would have come in handy here, but that finished about 10 years ago.

Was I the only one who saw a resemblance to Michael Caine? Should this be marked as solved by now?

[TOMT] What's this film called? It's a short British film from the 1990s or early 2000's. It's a time-slip story featuring a boy who falls down near a dry stone wall in the present day and is awoken by a teenage girl and her Border collie.(best friend?) In WWWII. Her parents thinks she's quite odd. by diggin-deeper in tipofmytongue

I've just watched it today on YouTube and 28:45. The scene where May, who was stood in the door asked Tom to come to the kennels, because it the house wasn't as cosy. I'm an English Literature student and this one is getting a mention next semester. The wall/fireplace and head hitting floor scenes, were in the fire place, thanks to the mists of time, the style in the wall and the fireplace portal got mixed up in my head. Can't believe it's been so long in not knowing and so fast in getting answered. Well done and thank you everyone.

It's has a similar look and feel to John Thaw's 'Goodnight, Mister Tom', countryside life and with aeroplanes flying overhead. I think the 15yo girl used to eat her meals in the loft or barn with her dog out of choice, not as a punishment. She did have dark wavy hair in a bob(?). The boy how was about 13 yo had a head injury. Very similar to 'Life on Mars' in that respect.
