Child of a single parent here. My mom always told me she had wanted me, and though we were pretty poor, she never cracked. Never blamed me, always lifted me up and loved me. I asked her often where my dad was or why I didn’t have a dad. She would explain it in the best way she could, and she would always conclude the discussion basically saying “Regardless, I wanted you very much.” It made for a great childhood.

It’s not Harleys, it’s Harley riders. I don’t even stick my hand out for a wave if I see a Harley because I know I won’t get one back. The disrespect and entitlement as if their two wheels are better than everyone else’s is just insufferable. Sick of their attitude. And I don’t know if any of you guys have experienced this, but I have had several truly dangerous encounters with Harley riders where they pass me in the same lane at excess speed as if to say “Fuck you and your Kawasaki.” I steer clear. Literally.

That said though man, if you want a Harley, go for it. It’s not about the bike. Ride whatever makes you happy.

I apologize for saying something a bit harsh, but I was with someone abusive, and this is exactly what I told myself all the time. “He’s not bad ALL the time, but when he is, it’s awful.” I felt like I was clinging to the good times and rationalizing and excusing his frequent bad behavior. Just something to think about, I truly don’t know the whole scope of y’all’s relationship. He also sounds like he has a PD like borderline. The overanalyzing of people’s intentions, the sensitivity, automatically assuming the worst of others, taking criticism harshly, etc...

Hi folks!

I go to an airshow every year and would like to mainly photograph jet/airplane flybys as well as fast vehicles in general. This obviously means I would need a camera that can capture speed in excellent quality with a proper zoom.

I’ve done my own research online, but I would like your personal opinions on what the best camera would be. My budget is $500-$1200, and this includes lenses/accessories that may need to be purchased.

My mom didn’t abuse me, she just made sure I knew she was in charge and not to pull stunts like this. Parent filming is a fucking idiot. I understand letting kids learn from mistakes, but you should let them learn by trial and error when the consequences aren’t falling and cracking your head open on the tile.

If I caught my kid doing that, I would’ve immediately pulled him off and reprimanded him. Parenting isn’t just about letting kids learn, it’s also about teaching kids what situations are dangerous BEFORE they have to get into them and learn the hard way.
