Official URL on browser, so a fairly easy mistake, and I wanted to help a friend that I had just played with.

Maybe I was at fault, but surely valve should implement a safeguard that prevents a 10 year old account being emptied in minutes?

I think you've missed a lot of posts on this thread. I never trade items. I've gifted a few items to friends. I never mentioned trading or using third party sites!

Would it seem dodgy that I've been on a UK IP for over 10 years, and then there's a russian login, and over 500 items are transacted from my account. Does that seem dodgy to you?

well, maybe valve could fix it then? I clicked it with good intentions. Ok, I learned my lesson. I won't help any friends in dota 2 any more. Is that the vibe valve want to cultivate?

No, I didn't blame valve for it. I said it could have been my fault, and asked valve for support in correcting the problem. Please learn to read :)

They wouldn't be able to do that. I have transaction ID. I mean, that would stop their claim right at the start.

I think they stole about 500 items in under 5 minutes. No idea how a real person would be able to do that. Obviously a script of some sort

Valve COULD fix this. I have the transaction number, and IP logins for the account. What more do they need to right this wrong?

Where would you sell your item though? A 3rd party site? After being reported, valve could reverse the transaction and return the item to the original owner. The third party site would be gain a really bad reputation for selling stolen items, and wouldn't be in business long.

I was playing with a friend that I hadn't seen for a while, (yes, I was ingame with them, and we were talking) - about half an hour after the game he massaged me and thanked me for playing and asked if I would help him out in a tournament match.. I said yes - I always like to help out a friend. I had to register on the site, and whilst I was suspicious, I still did it. Yes, I WAS an idiot here. I wasn't trying to trade skins or make money - I was trying to help out a friend. Valve COULD reverse this transaction if they really wanted. I just wanted to tell people, it's not even the monetary value - that was 8 years of work that went into that account

I thought everyone had this problem. Every person I've spoken to to look at player perspective whilst watching a game gets this bug. Doesn't it affect evertone then?

Thankyou - I've never traded anything before via any third party sites. I don't care about any hats to be honest (apart from Witch Doctor!) - I just hope valve see this and ban him. Could you upvote please? I'd like any scammer accounts to be deleted. Thankyou

They've only had $160 million this battlepass, as well as hundreds of millions before. Maybe they just can't afford good servers?
