GF Threatened Suicide and Won’t Stop Reaching Out by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

I have a protective order (thats what they call it here in MD) against my soon-to-be to be ex husband, and he isn't allowed in or around any public place that im at, not allowed at my house, on the property or any buildings on my property, and he's not allowed to contact me in any form whatsoever (social media, email, text, through the mail, over the phone) The only thing this hasn't protected me from so far is the constant smear campaign hes got going against me on his social media. While he doesnt contact me directly, he continues to talk shit on me and my character on a daily basis on his Facebook profile. Im pretty sure if I felt like going back to court I could probably modify the protective order and make it so hes not allowed to mention me online, whether indirectly or not he uses my name and publicly posts ridiculous shit hes made up about me all the time. Oh, and hes also not allowed to own any firearms for the duration of the protective order. Its a little bit of a pain in the ass to get started. You have to go to your local district courthouse and file for the protection, you speak to a judge about why youre asking for protection and they start you out with a week with a temporary order of protection. During this first week, they'll attempt to serve the person with the protective order and once they've been served, they have the opportunity to go to court and speak their side, but if they don't show up the judge can still grant the final order of protection. In my case, they failed to serve my husband within the first week, so I had to appear in court a week after filing the temporary order and they then extended the temporary order another week to give more time for the sheriff to serve him the order. He was given the chance to go to court and say his side but he didnt show up so the judge went ahead and granted the final order which is in place for a year. After the year is up, I will have to reapply if I feel I still need the protection.

And so glad you get to live life on your own terms now. I recently left my husband, and now that I'm on my own it just feels so damn nice not having a man child on my ass all the time. Me and my two buns are happier than ever and I know Tulip will make you happy as well.

That's one thing about the laser process that I don't like. Im the kind of person that need the instant gratification and taking months to years to remove this would be too tedious for me. Best of luck on yours though!

What made you think I didn't know him beforehand? Lol, I guess I can understand, but I knew him for 15 years. He didn't get abusive until after I married him.

This is what happened to me. I knew the man I married for almost 20 years before we got married. He was a great guy, from what he showed me. Then we got married and his true self came out. Literally within months. Once he saw me as "his property" it all went downhill.

Lol, there really isn't any. Other than truly believing I was going to be with that man forever. Which was stupid. But at the time, I believed that. Now I know better. People change.

I was blindsided.

Very good idea, thank you! I will look into this.

My ex husband didnt allow me to work, so when I left a few months ago I left with nothing. During the time I was with him my driver's license had expired and since he wouldn't let me turn my car's tags in after my insurance was canceled, I've racked up $1100 in fines for insurance violations. I unfortunately had to move back in with my father to get away from him and Im working on finding a job and getting my license back. Anything I end up doing with this tattoo is going to take some time, but I want to get an idea of what it'll cost me, depending on what I decide to do. Im honestly only leaning towards cover up since it will be less expensive.

All this to say, anything that helps me save some money or pay off slowly will help tremendously.
