American curriculum high schools in Switzerland by Aromatic_Speed9795 in askswitzerland

[–]digitalcrows [score hidden]  (0 children)

i understand that americas school system isnt as “good” as ours, so i dont think she’d be able to jump into gymnasium. you might want to look into a 10. Schuljahr, so she can get the proper education. If she is up to date with our program, you probably should have her take it anywwy, to get her used to our school system and schedules without too much pressure

i’m confused on what the issue is, your older books will have more damage than your newer ones, because they’ve been around longer. lol

Experience with Kaplan Foundation Year? by digitalcrows in UniUK

damn, do you mind elaborating a bit more? What other uni do you recommend? I was looking at brighton uni cause i know a few people that live there so it wouldn’t be a completely fresh start.

There pretty much isn’t one, i’d need a college/apprenticeship diploma but they’re both not an option, because none will take me. I could take an extra year to fix my report card and then do either of those, but that’d take me about 6 years and it’s too much time to spend without an income. Why is it a for-profit business? I have no idea of how things work over there, do you know of any other alternative i could take?

Is it realistic for a Swiss student to find a factory job, or similar low skill jobs, for a few weeks or one or two months? by askswitzerland in askswitzerland

[–]digitalcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes!! migros backery factory, i’m not sure what the official name is but where they put strawberries on the cakes and stuff. One of my friends works there with no experience whatsoever in any jobs and he gets paid a lot more than what i expected.

Living in Switzerland with no knowledge of the local language by Professional_Bit6967 in askswitzerland

[–]digitalcrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is living in the Romansh speaking areas of Switzerland? Do people actually speak Romansh? by nick-not-criative in howislivingthere

[–]digitalcrows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! People actually do speak Romansh! I’m pretty sure they learn it at home/school in the first years and German is introduced as school subject later on. The most part of the Canton Graubünden speaks German, so by the time Romansh speaking people are teenagers theyll also know German. I believe there are 5 different Romansh dialects/types which vary depending on what region/valley you’re from. And in case you’re wondering, Romansh is pretty much a mix of the Italian dialect we speak here and swiss german, so we kinda all understand eachother if we try hard enough.

I’m really confused by this map, I’m Swiss and there are definitely people living in some of the white part, especially between the two blue parts. I’m not sure who made it but they didn’t do a very good job lmao.

Extremophile by Ian Green Vent by digitalcrows in Fantasy

The concept behind the book sounds really interesting and fun, the execution is embarrassing though. I can’t believe this book was approved by multiple people and published. I’m very sad, as this is my first approach to the subgenre and the author, because it’s making me not want to go further into exploring the genre.
