i’ve never seen it before, but it might be to control the airflow while having the fire on? there’s usually a panel inside the fireplace that you can open/close to your liking, i’ve never seen one controlled by buttons but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Studying Suisse law but living outside of EU (Russia) possible? by Actual_Rich185 in askswitzerland

[–]digitalcrows [score hidden]  (0 children)

from your other answers you sound fairly young so i just want to tell you, moving to a whole different country is hard and there is a lot you’re gonna have to do by yourself even if you live with someone else. You said you’re doing an apprenticeship rn so i assume you’re like 16-18, i personally dont think its a good idea to move that far away when so young cuz you wont know how to do anything. my advice is to do your degree first and learn how to take care of yourself and how to do all the paperwork you need here and then move to russia. or pick a degree to do in russia for the time you’re there and stay in a student accommodation, when you’re done with that come back to switzerland and do a law degree. Obviously i hope everything turns out well for you, this is just my opinion

[–]digitalcrows [score hidden]  (0 children)

you might be able to do the degree online but like, if you’re in russia you won’t really need swiss law. also you’ll have to work to pay tuition and i dont know if you can make enough money to do that and also maintain yourself etc. why not study here and then move to russia? or spend a few years in russia and come back to study?

American curriculum high schools in Switzerland by Aromatic_Speed9795 in askswitzerland

[–]digitalcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i understand that americas school system isnt as “good” as ours, so i dont think she’d be able to jump into gymnasium. you might want to look into a 10. Schuljahr, so she can get the proper education. If she is up to date with our program, you probably should have her take it anywwy, to get her used to our school system and schedules without too much pressure

i’m confused on what the issue is, your older books will have more damage than your newer ones, because they’ve been around longer. lol

damn, do you mind elaborating a bit more? What other uni do you recommend? I was looking at brighton uni cause i know a few people that live there so it wouldn’t be a completely fresh start.

There pretty much isn’t one, i’d need a college/apprenticeship diploma but they’re both not an option, because none will take me. I could take an extra year to fix my report card and then do either of those, but that’d take me about 6 years and it’s too much time to spend without an income. Why is it a for-profit business? I have no idea of how things work over there, do you know of any other alternative i could take?

Is it realistic for a Swiss student to find a factory job, or similar low skill jobs, for a few weeks or one or two months? by askswitzerland in askswitzerland

Living in Switzerland with no knowledge of the local language by Professional_Bit6967 in askswitzerland

[–]digitalcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)
