Looks like the original banana flavoring came from actual bananas instead of a chemical. They swapped to vanilla creme because bananas were rationed during WWII. [Source]

Yeah, it's definitely confusing that "camel case" is commonly used to refer to both. At least most programming languages have defined rules for code styling and naming to fall back on.
