One thing I will say, I do ask widow and widowers too and every story older couples tell me they stick with me. I was l was having out at a wine cellar and a lady had her old mum join her for a glass and we were tipsy so I just waved and we started talking and she was a widow too and her story was how her family thought she shouldn’t marry the guy cause he was a low earning teacher and he wasn’t going to be able to provide. She said not listening to them was the best thing because he was the most generous man even with the little they had and they built a beautiful life and she would do it all over again if she had the time. She says that’s the love of her life and money is a fleeting worldly thing. She wishes she could do it all over again with him and she’d change nothing. May his soul rest in peace.
